Nice try, but that doesn't remotely say what you accused me of saying.

Now that's funny, right there, I don't care who you are......

It could be upwards of a 5% difference in annual premiums. For huge property like the Mall, Towne Center, or the hospitals, that is a shite ton of money saved.

We all know my limitations, but you are the genius who usually has it do organized you can click to any document in a milli second.

But now you can't find the link to the 38 million tax figure and you're having trouble understanding Sprockets and myself.

Yes, it does. You went from "nothing prevents the St George effort from moving forward" to "we don't know what affect the annexations will have."

That's a big difference. You can keep denying it's a very different statement, but that won't make it true.

I'm confused, isn't Kip the Mayor-President of the entire Parish?

And why shouldn't SG get Green Light projects like everyone else in the parish?

And it could be nothing. Did the Mall say they would save 5% or was that the Geico lizard?

Those aren't mutually exclusive, Mr. "Genius". We don't know what affect it will have, yet we will continue moving forward. They will collect the rest of the signatures, and keep marching on with the process. You are grasping at straws.

Of course SG should get projects from the Green Light Program. I was stating that the SG area is not being ignored like the poster was acting like.

Here's an example of what happens when your fire rating improves:

https://theadvocate.com/home/920316-79/fire-insurance-rates-to-fall.html
quote:

GONZALES — Homeowners on Ascension Parish’s unincorporated west bank can expect “significant” reductions in their fire insurance premiums early next month, state insurance officials said.

The Property Insurance Association of Louisiana lowered the fire rating by one class for areas outside Donaldsonville after a survey in July, the west bank’s fire chief said Friday.

State insurance officials announced that that a $150,000 home could see a premium decrease of $93 to about $1,337 annually.

That’s about a 6.5 percent drop.

State insurance officials said the rate reduction takes effect Oct. 10, though premium reductions could vary with the value of property and other factors.

quote:

“They really did make the difference,” Montero said.

Commissioner of Insurance Jim Donelon commended the efforts of parish officials and firefighters.

Your efforts to make your property safer have brought about the lowering of your fire protection grading, which results in lower insurance rates on your homes and other property,” Donelon said in the statement.

Here's another example: LINK

quote:

On the way down: Due to improved fire protection gradings, East Baton Rouge Parish homeowners in Fire District 9 (which includes the Alsen area) and Chaneyville Fire District 7 (just east of Zachary corporate limits) can expect "significant rate reductions" in their fire insurance premiums, effective Jan. 6, says Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon. He adds the amount of each policy rate reduction will vary, depending on the value of the property, the fire district where the property is located and the rate schedule of the company insuring the property.

I'm looking for an idea of what a national retailer would save.

ETA the SG district has a two rating not a low number

You are grasping at straws.

I predicted today's annexation of the Mall almost 6 months ago on this board and was told I was wrong.

Last week you started a thread which predicted SG proponents would submit their incorporation petitions this morning before the CP council meeting began in order to "freeze" the annexations.

The same link you provided in that thread said the petitions were almost final. "Very soon" is the term it used, I believe.

Lionel Rainey, The Third, stated emphatically last week that a Mall annexation would make their petition "invalid." Now he's saying that's not true.

Trust me, I am not the one grasping at straws here.

The article says "homes and other property". Why have the different class ratings if they don't apply? Private retailers have to get insurance just like everyone else.

Nobody has disputed the claim that cheaper insurances rates will follow these businesses after annexation so I'm not sure what you are looking for here exactly.

I realize its one class difference but 5% sounds reasonable. Regardless, these businesses aren't just gonna trust William Daniel's word. I'm sure they saw proof.

Kip would hate to lose all those red light cameras they placed in the St.George area, he may have to put one at. Airline and Prescott if he lost that Money grab. $130 every time someone doesn't come to a complete stop. Kip let's put one at N 22nd at Florida. can't lose those working tax payers. I'm happy for all of you who love Baton Rouge, but I drove through Denver,Dallas and Houston last week and yesterday it took me longer at 345pm to get from highland to the new bridge. Exactly 58 mins. Baton Rouge is a joke. And a lost cause at that. I'd suggest to any working tax payer to leave it while you still can get money for your homes.
