quote:

"I stand here today as a uniter not as a divider," says Mayor Kip Holden. "The question is are we going to draw a dividing line or work together for the future of everybody." "My mother lives in the St. George area," says Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle "However, I don't believe I should stand in the way of government in terms of them being annexed into our city. I'm not going to stand in the way of the St. George petition neither am I going to stand in the way of them annexing in." Councilman Buddy Amoroso wanted the council to defer the decision for 30 days to allow the St. George fire chief to report how the annexation would affect its services, but that motion failed.

Well that's the last time I shop at that place. Taking my dollars to Ascension at all times if possible.

What order did they vote?

If they voted mall first, it's invalid.

The Metro Council could have a gold and platinum mine in their district and the EBRPSS would still be shite.

Disappointed but not mad. Don't really care about the City of St. George but do care about the right to vote on an issue. Obviously they're trying to short circuit the right to vote on St. George. They could've taken time rather than rush through it.

There is no law that says our petition is invalid. Neither side knows with any certainty. The only thing we know is that when the signatures get turned in, the city will file suit on that basis. And the beat goes on....

All at once?

I think that would be invalid. I think they would have to vote for each one successively to "bridge" to the Mall.

They commented about the tight thd Mall had to ask for annexation and I don't disagree . They followed the law and I respect that.

I just want the people of SG to get equal respect and that laws not be passed just to get in their way.

Darn... without the Mall there is no St. George, and I don't get to be mayor.

I had my stump speech prepared and everything.

Delgado is toast if he runs for mayor.

What will be funny is the shite sandwich people will be having when the EBR grade scandal blows up.
