It’s encouraging to me that 35 republicans felt safe enough with their constituents to vote principle over sycophancy to Donald Trump.

Yeah. We really need to get to the bottom of the worst attack on American democracy since the civil war.

I can certainly understand why you and Donald Trump would want to move past it and pretend it never happened

Pretty much like everyone else, mine is merely speculation and opinion, but the disgrace and embarrassment I'm perceiving in connection with 1/6 stems from what the rest of the world had front row tickets to for the past 5 years: the desperate efforts of Trump's opponents to finally land a blow, despite how unhinged it appears to the rest of the world. And of course it's still ongoing, regardless of the fact that Trump isn't even President anymore.

yeah, that’s it. It wasn’t the literal storming of the Capitol during the transition of power that made us look like a third world banana republic shithole.
The loser of the election couldn’t win in court so he called his supporters to the streets. How American

Do tell. This should be good.

It’s terrible optics for the loser of the election to throw a temper tantrum like he did. Resoundingly defeated in all court challenges so he calls his supporters to the streets like a third world goon. Makes him looks childish and unhinged.
Especially when he already alleged fraud in the 2015 Iowa primary versus Cruz and preemptively did it in the 2016 general. It’s almost like Donald can’t take a loss without alleging fraud

You said I want to be past it. I don’t give a shite about goofballs breaking the law.
The commission is dumb in the face of antifa and blm terrorists. Where’s that commission?
Why did you use the lol emoticon?

The characterization by the Dems and media never happened.
It was a total setup. Democrat operatives led the charge, some gullible Trump supporters followed them, and the Capitol Police escorted them in.

Good. Then I’m glad you support investigating it so that lose in security never happens again.

Where’s the nexus of connectivity between the storming of the Capitol and the BLM/Antifa riots? Why do the two need to be linked together. One involves national security and the peaceful transition of power and the other two are social unrest.

Because I think it’s funny that Trump either alleges fraud or preemptively alleges fraud before every election so in case he loses it’s because of the fraud and not the merits of his candidacy. It’s funny in a sad, perverse way that you guys still fall for it.

Then wouldn’t a bipartisan commission requiring both Republican and Democratic support for subpoena power bring that to light? Why wouldn’t you want that exposed?

It's a 2022 Democrat election plan under the guise of "investigation". Don't be dumb.

They aren’t connected.
Your antifa buddies need a commission more than those goofballs.
You likely disagree.

It’s investigating the first storming of the Capitol since _____ to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
But again, I can see why Trump and his supporters want to move past it. The post-election period was not a good look for the very stable genius.

Reagan was great his first term. When dementia started creeping in during his second term he started going daddy Bush neocon.
