I’m just gonna skip the low-hanging “whip this out” punch lines and say we need common sense snake control.

What kind of snake did he have? A bull snake? Just like a herpetologist to bring a snake to a gun fight?

Story doesn't say what kind, just that it was 5 ft long and police took it.

I was fishing and herping on the river over the weekend and managed to grab a really good shot of the snake that I would have suggested this dindunuffin attempt to use...
This little dude was chill as hell too, but I'd still probably have paid to watch a low IQ degenerate criminal try to stuff it in his pants.
If the snake the police seized was 5 feet, it pretty well narrows down what it could've been. Possible pet like a ball python on the larger size or boa constrictor on the smaller size. Or, perhaps an adult rat snake or gopher snake. I lean towards a ball python or boa though, because a rat or gopher snake likely wouldn't have taken too kindly to being stuffed in clothing.
