Roe certainly was a stretch, although it laid out a reasonable framework for limiting abortion restrictions if you actually read it carefully.

The problem with that is if you outlaw abortion (any willful action that destroys a competent embryo) and start prosecuting moms over it, birth control also becomes illegal.

Do abortion proponents even think about things before they say them?

Alabama is so backwards they would try and execute the CEO of the freezer manufacturer if it malfunctioned.

No one has been charged with a crime. This was a civil suit. The facility was extremely negligent and deserves to lose in a major way here.

I have no idea. You should ask one of the PT liberals.

Abortion has been illegal before. How many people were prosecuted for using birth control during that time?

Google Comstock Act prosecutions and you'll have your answer. If convicted you faced up to 5 years in prison.

Roe was wrong regardless of one's stance on the act of abortion.

Roe was wrong and so was this. With that said, people can leave Alabama or petition the legislature to change the law or state constitution.

A law that was ruled unconstitutional in 1965 did not suddenly become constitutional when Roe was overturned.

Not sure what your point is here. You asked how many people went to jail for having birth control. I answered, and now you're telling me it's still unconstitutional.

Correct. Which in turns makes it that much more difficult, and thus a colossal loser for Rs.

You don’t think we should accept added difficulty in order to save lives?

I don’t think it should be any harder/less obtainable than it already is, full stop. Which is the same view as anyone w any common sense, (ie the overwhelming majority of Americans). And all of this nonsense is going to do exactly that.

It’s already a long difficult process as is. It’s expensive as hell. It’s mentally/physically very taxing on mothers who are desperate and out of options, and half the time it doesn’t even work!

You can have all the “ethical/moral” views you want, it still has to be a reasonable position or all those ethics/morals are completely irrelevant. Rs are going to get dragged for this, and they should. Trump knows this.

Fine. This case has nothing to do with Trump and he wasn't involved in it in any way.

Of course

But he would be stupid not to publicly disagree with it

What kind of stupid question is this? Are you under the impression that miscarriages are being prosecuted?

Your posting in this thread is a perfect example of the lack of knowledge that permeates

You understand what is happening correct?

You understand the facts that are being discussed, correct?

Do you understand the potential ramifications of the court ruling?

Your replies appear to show otherwise

You didn’t bother to answer the second question. If we agree that a baby is a baby before or after birth, if the baby is not a baby at fertilization, at what arbitrary point after fertilization do we suddenly recognize it as a human being?

You wrote a very thoughtful response.

I'm not sure that fertilization = life but I'm not smart enough for that.

As a personal opinion, possibly, I could argue that the state has an interest in the life when the heart starts beating.
