Chicago Gun Violence Spikes and Increasingly Finds the Youngest Victims

quote:

On June 20, a man fired gunshots through the back of a dark blue SUV, wounding the 27-year-old man driving and hitting his stepson, Mekhi James, in the back, killing him. Mekhi was three.

Two other girls, both aged three, were hospitalized with gunshot wounds in separate incidents in recent days — one after her mother thought she heard fireworks and turned around to see her daughter collapsed on the ground.

These were just the toddlers.

In all, nine children under 18 have been killed since June 20 as Chicago reels from another wave of gun violence. The last two were killed on Saturday evening. A 14-year-old boy was shot to death on Chicago’s South Side. A seven-year-old girl was struck in the forehead by a bullet when three gunmen opened fire on a July 4 street party on the city’s West Side, police said.

“The Windy City is becoming the Bloody City,” said the Rev. Michael L. Pfleger of Saint Sabina Church, calling it the worst period in the 45 years he has worked on social issues. “I have never seen the despair, hopelessness and anger all mixed together at the level it is right now.”

msn: I guess most black lives don't matter

Apparently no one cares about Chi Raq. Least of all the people living there.

I’m pretty sure the spin will be about the need to restrict guns (in their gun free zones) and how it’s the 2nd amendments fault

And devoted to dems for 75 years at least, the home of the long legged mack daddy himself, never done shite for these people but lay the foundation and fuel tye machine that generates endless cycles of poverty stricken fatherless households devoted to the most basic trinkets and appearance of wealth.

These are lives lost that are at least partially a result of the loss and isolation of Coronavirus.

The upticks in suicide and murder can be added to the toll.

Isn't it strange how some communities own tons of firearms, with a practically nil crime rate, while others can't go a single day without killing each other?

An unorganized community couldn't touch those murder numbers.

What a POS. Long history of activist. The Catholic Church should be ashamed of letting that guy run a church for 30+ years.

It’s a shame the Obamas aren’t doing anything to help the place that is building his presidential library. Being a 1% at Martha’s Vinyard instead of doing any good in the world

The real question is, how did Donald Trump orchestrate all those murders?

89 years. The last Republican Mayor of Chicago served until 1931. Nearly half of that time (43 years), Chicago was run by the Daley family. frickers made themselves kings off the back of Chicago and Illinois taxpayers, and the retards kept electing them.
