Meet your next SCOTUS Justice, Judge J. Michelle Childs

Clyburn gave the nomination to Biden
quote:
Rep. James Clyburn advocated for the Biden administration to consider Judge J. Michelle Childs for a potential Supreme Court appointment, according to a report, adding yet another name to the speculative list of potential high court nominees.
The New York Times reported that after Clyburn, D-S.C., visited with President Biden in the Oval Office, he went to Vice President Harris' office to float Childs as a potential justice.
Childs, a federal district judge in South Carolina, would be the first Black woman to sit on the Supreme Court.
Clyburn is the highest-ranking Black member of Congress and is widely credited with helping save Biden's primary campaign. Biden was lagging significantly behind expectations after the Nevada caucuses. But an endorsement from Clyburn helped Biden come roaring back before his massively successful Super Tuesday.

Most other names who have been floated for Supreme Court appointments have come from outside groups and not lawmakers, so Clyburn's support gives Childs instant credibility as a contender.

A black woman? SHOCKER
They never talk about credentials. Just race and gender.

Shame that they can’t replace Ginsburg.

Zach is not a betting man but Zach would wager $10,000 that Ms Childs is in the 'living breathing Constitution' school as opposed to the 'Originalist' school.

Imagine knowing that the only reason you were chosen is because of the color of the pigment of your skin. Something no one has control of.

I'm going to assume her education and judicial experience dwarfs everyone on TD. If not, shame on Clyburn.

Unlike judges nominated by Republicans, judges nominated by Dems always rule the way the party wants. Always.

Her educational CV is middling for a SC justice but she was one of the go-to's in South Carolina for labor and employment for many years. I dealt with her on the opposite side a couple of times in the late 90s and she is sharp. She was well respected in her area of practice. As for her constitutional positions I have zero clue.

Elite liberal snobs not gonna like a USF undergrad and USCe law school for Supreme Court. Maybe if she transgender to a gay male Alex, I’ll take Leonda Kruger for $1000

There a bunch of people out there with degrees that are dumb as a box of rocks.
The jury is still out on her judicial experience.
Now, against everyone on TD, I might agree with most everyone but not all.
If she was white, would she be looked at for SCOTUS?

It no longer matters who it is.
There's not another Alito or Thomas left and we no longer have a Constitutional check in the USSC. They are only an extension of whatever holds the keys to the DC machine and that force is no longer sympathetic to the principles we were founded on.
We're screwed.

Based on a few recent rulings it would seem the strong majority of the existing court makes it up as they go. At this point, I’m not sure it matters. Corruption is overwhelming in all aspects of government.

It would probably help if they cared. They do not.

You know it was the dimocreeps who started fillabustering and blocking SCOTUS appointments.
I know the deepstate and dims circumvented the election and imposed Biden on the throne but we can't block their selections not enough power.

I know every time there is a name mentioned for the Supreme Court the first thing that pops into my mind is always, "Yeah, but how does this person's resume stack up against TD?"
