We keep electing people who have no clue about technology even while the online battlefield is escalating. There is a lot of recent talk about China and Taiwan. It is just a matter of time before China takes Taiwan. The US will do nothing.
When you buy a NAS drive these days, if it is not from Western Digital it is likely made in Taiwan. You probably did not read the Terms of the hardware or software. What it says is that the software is governed by the laws of Taiwan. Same thing for those Transend USB drives you got off of Chinazon.
... I think there are six bills in Congress related to Big Tech. I've not had time to read them ... I suspect those I voted for have not either. While they will have some good things in them, I suspect there will be some DA things too. More importantly, I'm fairly certain they won't address the issues of our reliability on Taiwan for tech (chips, etc), or the terms of contracts of products we are buying from Taiwan... think you'll take a Taiwan company to court IN TAIWAN over the data they've stolen from you (that one day will belong to China)?

Joe Biden is safely tucked in Red China's corner, with Hunter as the go between China and Joe Biden. Joe Xiden will not lift a finger to help defend the free Republic of Taiwan. Maybe Japan and South Korea will jump in and help. They'd better. China will come after them next.
Having said that, I hope Taiwan has pointed their nuclear tipped missiles at Three Gorges Dam. If China launches an invasion, Taiwan needs to blow that TGD and flush China into the South China Sea.

Yes ... and they have done nothing about it. I believe that one of the big bills would "give" Us tech companies billions ... probably with no strings attached.
HOWEVER ... very few know about the other stuff I mentioned. Did you know? There are NAS drives and Transend USB drives all over the US many providing some data to Taiwan.

... I ask (personally via email or phone) EVERY new rep I vote for tech questions. They HATE it as they have no clue.

NC_Tigah ... thanks for posting those pics... I suspect a LOT of people, maybe most, don;t know where Taiwan is located.
... I could see them taking that little island like Russia did in Phase 1 of their acquisition of parts of Ukraine... and then gauge the response ... which likely be a talk from powers around the world about had bad China is ... while continuing to buy from and sell to China.

I wouldn’t be so sure the US won’t do anything. I mean with the pussy we have in office maybe not but we’re likely getting a republican next term.

`68 ... Biden and Warners idea is to give Tech companies $50 BILLION who no strings attached. These are the very companies ... who along with other Big Tech, USCOC, Multinational companies and establishment GOP & DEMs build China into a World Power.
