The statues & monuments to Lincoln need to be removed. He is responsible for more death & destruction than anyone in American history. If the South was truly not legally able to succeed as he claimed, then he is the only president to have raised an army to attack his own countrymen. The left thinks it is OK to use violence against people that disagree with them, so that makes Lincoln a hero to them.

I'm asking you. How do the statues override their own decisions?

What represents Kentucky inhabitants better? Their own decisions they make as individuals or the statues?

How are their own individual decisions effected in ANYWAY by statues? Please answer that.

If Nazis are going to continue to use these stupid statues as rallying points for their ignorance and hate, knock every damn one down.

Melt them into slag.

oh okay, so avoid a question that proves you're full of shite. Noted.

You can be a liberal, doesn't mean you have to be illogical.

I feel bad for you.

No, I was not born, raised, nor have I lived in Lexington, KY. Where did I even say this? What in the hell are you talking about? Do you read posts?

It shows no one outside of KY gives a shite that they exist.

I don't care if they tear them down, but to make a shite show out of it is petty and annoying at best.

As someone who spent the first 24 years of my life in Lexington and still have a ton of friends and family there, I don't know a single person who will be outraged about this. Lexington isn't like most southern cities. Trump lost by nine percent there. They elected one of the first openly gay mayors in the US, and re-elected him in a landslide.

Explain to me. How will the removal of statues change how the Lexington economy and education system works?

How will this improve people's lives in a practical manner? Just curious since DisplacedBuckeye is a coward and won't answer any questions that he feels uncomfortable with.

As a resident of Lexington, I'm glad to see the statues being moved. Lexington is the horse capital of the world and is increasingly attracting international visitors.

The Queen of England has been to the city 6 times and has toured many of the beautiful horse farms surrounding it. Fall horse sales at Fasig-Tipton attract millionaires and billionaires from around the world.

In the horse industry Central Kentucky is an international destination. We need to make sure that all symbols of oppression and bigotry are erased from the face we present to the world.

Good, then y'all can stop fricking melting about it. Their elected mayor made his decision. They can sort it out if they don't like it, although as already posted by the dude from Lexington, that isn't likely.

Kentucky wasn't even a CSA state. Who cares?

What losers would actually care enough to put up these statues in non CSA territories? Why?

Baltimore has 4 Confederate Statues for some reason & only 1 Union despite Maryland not being a CSA state either .

67000 Marylanders volunteered for the Union & only about 22,000 for the CSA.

I don't see many Grant, Sherman & Lincoln statues littered throughout CSA territory.

I said it Saturday, these dense idiots, by organizing these large scale pilgrimages around preserving these statues, framing them as symbols of white supremacy, were only going to bolster the arguments the proponents for removal had made, and hasten their removal.

Looks like that is coming true.

Frankly, if you are someone that thinks their presence has legitimate non-racist, positive value to communities, I can't imagine how you wouldn't be royally pissed off at these people co-opting and monopolizing this issue with their hateful framing.

Kentucky was admitted to the CSA as the 13th state right after Missouri was admitted as the 12th. Kentucky is represented by the central star on the Stars and Bars as a rebuke to Abraham Lincoln who was born and raised in Kentucky.

Either you didn't read even a little or you think we need to remove all statues of presidents and vice-presidents who owned slaves.

Are we ready to make hockey illegal because of the red wings? Doesn't sound constitutional but I don't watch hockey so whatever.

I agree. They should all just go home and just let the statues stand.
