That would explain a lot. May be a good chance to buy NVDIA and ride the upstroke after we have confirmed, once again, that China is ahhhsssshole

FWIW, Buffett exited a number of positions last year going to cash instead. He's couched his reasoning some, but it appears he anticipated that his guy, Potatobrain, would be reelected, and would subsequently raise CapGains and tank the market in no particular order.
At that point, Buffett planned to deploy his cash during the ensuing fire sale.
What is Buffett doing now? I've been in cash for over a year now anticipating a big market drop only to miss out on the gains for past year. The market is so fluffy right now. It just seems like it needs a correction very badly.

I posted a thread over month ago warning about ... Warren Buffet selling close to 50% of his Apple shares.

They spent way more than that just to RENT H100s to get around export restrictions. Additionally, NVDA is more than just LLM use cases. The only groundbreaking news about deepseek is that they made their code open source which is what OpenAI should’ve done and stayed non-profit, in which case Elon was right.

In terms of the market, while this DeepSeek AI story will negatively impact the stock market I think the real impact is the Federal Reserve hesitancy keep the 10 year note prices high. A week or so ago the yields were approaching 5% but have been slowly tapering down and now trading in the 4.5% range. But this is still a very attractive "risk free" rate. The point is, as the bond market becomes more attractive the more money will flow to it, from equities.

Which has nothing to do with me warning about a crash over a month ago. In that thread people like you said I was fear mongering and didn't know what I was talking about.

You don't think someone like Buffet didn't know about deepseek and how the US tech companies wasted billions investing in AI when that type of investment in hardware was not going to be needed with AI
They did invest billions in hardware.
ETA: I'll be more precise. They're USING billions in hardware

Let’s revisit this in a month. We can make a wager. I’ll take a ban, while you are not allowed to post your X threads anymore.

You must of missed this guys Twitter thread which breaks down exactly how Deepseek accomplished this. You should go educate yourself and listen to someone who knows what they are talking about.

What is Buffett doing now? I
- 8.9 million shares of Occidental Petroleum ($409 million).
- 5 million shares of Sirius XM (SIRI -0.77%) ($107 million).
- 474 thousand shares of Verisign (VRSN 1.97%) ($94 million).
There may have been other purchases but these three purchases were the only ones involving owning 10%+ of the outstanding shares in those companies and thus were required to be reported to the SEC which releases the information to the public.

How do you think the FR achieves stated interest rate policy? They don't push a button and magic happens. They physically have to make it happen on the bond market and they do so through their primary dealers by reacting to market conditions by buying and selling as appropriate.
When the FR wants high bond prices they QE (depending on market they generally buy).
When the FR wants low bond prices they tighten (depending on market they generally sell).
