Market Analyst Mohamed El Erian: “USA is poised to win a trade war”

Financial markets are essentially betting parlors. Mohamed El Erian is considered to be one of the better, perhaps currently the best/most influential, financial market analysts in the world. What El Erian outlines is something we have discussed at great length.
“When people realize that at the end of the day, the U.S. will prevail, because [China] is a less open economy, because [the U.S.] is a more dynamic economy, that ultimately you may end up in a situation where the U.S.’ position in global economic terms is better off.”

It's just like TRUMP said we can't lose because we already lost years ago. We can only win from here on with Our President at the helm to guide the nation and really, the world. Very stable genius!

He’s one of my favorite analysts. The guy is brilliant.
ETA: El Erian is on CNBC all the time. If anyone gets a chance, they should try to seek out what he has to say.
I follow his articles on SeekingAlpha as well.

I am still waiting for anyone to post a link that the conservative tree house faked any thing. Maybe asurob needs to stop watching CNN and admit it's comical yet obvious bias.

The multinationals (corporations and financial entities) don’t like President Trump; nor do they like any politician who expresses economic nationalism – with the exception of Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom they had been using as the fulcrum for their investment betting on the U.S. as following a service-driven economic model.
Trump has crushed that fulcrum. The economic globe is in a state of flux while it resets to the natural fulcrum with the U.S. as the centerpiece. Previously we have explained the dynamic of this flux-time as the space between two economic engines. Only President Trump could pull off this reset… his plans therein were assembled over decades.

Not exactly a scintillating analysis.
If you have more stuff than the other guy you can win a trade war, a regular war or pretty much any kind of competition.

The skeleton is gonna fossilize if you're waiting on that from assrot1.
How are we not gonna win the trade war when we're their biggest consumer. With the largest economy in the world. It's pretty simple. Not to mention it's good to have local companies rely a bit more on american made products. Even if the costs are higher. We win and re-establish self reliance in important industries at the same time.
Just look at the retail sector as an example. Losing consumers is fundamentally a pretty big deal. China is in a no win situation.

FWIW, El-Erian is a very big name in the financial world. He was on CNBC nearly daily before his acrimonious split with Bill Gross nearly blew-up PIMCO. He's an apolitical, down to Earth market expert.
Who do I trust??? You or dim political op ASUrob who says he's an youtube guy...

I read an interesting study 15 years ago the topic:
'If trade did not exist between nations who would be well off?'
Answer: the U.S.
They had a long list of natural resources that are critical to sustaining a thriving economy. We had the most. I was surprised at what resource they had listed as No. 1 advantage for the US...
Dirt
That's right. The US has more fertile topsoil than any other nation. It's because for 1,000s of years the early Europeans and Asians were tilling the soil. The American Indians never got around to it.
