I would agree with this statement. In order to align yourself with the beast, you will need to consciously choose him. It won’t be something subtly slipped into your drink or administered to you under the guise of protecting you from a pandemic. Who can blame the person who wants the vaccine? Once again, for you to be held accountable, you will need to consciously choose evil over good.

Yes, the Bible is clear on this point. The Mark (whether it is physical, spiritual, or both) is something you choose and accept willingly. By accepting it, you reject Christ.

I hope no one accepts. But hundreds of millions likely will.

It's not even a vaccine.

Nobody is getting a 666 stamped on their head or hand. Like much of Revelation and other prophecy, symbolism is primary in describing future events.

The head represents accepting and being willingly controlled by evil thoughts and ideas. The hand represents ones works and actions being used to demonstrate acceptance of evil. You are correct that those who carry the mark have done so willingly and under their own power.
