Which religion do you subscribe to that the doctrine is "if you're a bad person, go frick yourself?"

I'm aware of that, and your response is misplaced because the guy I was responding to was criticizing the "love and sympathy" shown to a criminal. Of course the command is to go, and sin no more, but not once did Jesus say "if someone is bad enough you don't have to love or show them sympathy"

Do you have the tweet in question? It feels disingenuous to argue this point without seeing the actual tweet itself.

It wasn't even Robert Francis Prevost's tweet; he retweeted this article: LINK

It’s not that I don’t like the Pope, it’s that I just don’t care.

My religion, the Church of the Born Again Heathens.

I was raised in the Church of Christ. I no longer follow all of their tenets. However, we believe God will forgive them of their sins. That is between God and them.

So, the Catholic Church and the Head Shaman feel like human traffickers and woman beaters deserve to be treated with "dignity"?

No wonder there are so many pedophiles and gays in the priesthood.

I mean, he is retweeting an article that features a very left leaning view of immigration so I'm not sure why you're so upset people think he's a leftist. That entire article is a classic example of the appeal to emotion fallacy. It ignores the pain of all of the people who have been violated and even killed by people who aren't even legally supposed to be here but it doesn't present that point of view at all. It's just one emotional appeal after another.

Oh, some people think accuse him of hiding a pedo? Well, if he was accused of it, it must be true! Just like all those women Trump raped! What's that? It was an underling who authorized that priest without his knowledge? And the journalist who broke the "story" has a long history of bias against Catholic leadership? Oh, never mind that! Hang him anyway!

I'm not a Catholic. So, listen to the rest of what I say with that in mind.

I loved JP2. I rank him as, perhaps, the greatest human being of the 20th Century. His successors CANNOT compare to him. They aren't a speck, compared to his greatness. And even JPII has the stink of the sexual abuse scandal about him.

Benedict, the Commie Pope and now this new guy get no slack from me. Period.

I hate to tell you, but any "church" that says people don't deserve dignity is no church where Jesus is present. I truly hope He softens your heart.

I do not care who the pope is. He is a sinful man just like the rest of us. I don't look to him or want to hear anything he says. I have one Holy Father and he ain't on this earth.

Must be a different Jesus than the one who was known to flip tables and put the whip to the wicked.

I hope Jesus touches the heart of your pedophile protecting pope.

God is merciful, yes, but he also is a god of justice and sometimes that means consequences for our actions.

known who Pope Leo is for about ten seconds

We have known popes for 2,000 years. They are all the same. And they dont speak for God

* God doesnt hide pedophiles
* Nor does he bless gay unions
* Nor does he torture and kill those that seek his guidance, separate from the demands of a pope

Admit what? That even Catholics have admitted that some popes acted outside the laws set up by God?

Once you have a single pope do that (Pope John XII, Pope Benedict IX, Pope Urban VI, Pope Alexander VI, Pope Leo X) then the rest cant claim to be the voice of God. Pope Leo X was so bad that the Protestant movement began in revolt.

Now the new pope takes his name. Quite telling, actually
