Manchester City Player Jokes With His Black Friend On Twitter, Gets Suspended & Fined £50K

Bernardo Silva is a Spanish soccer player for Manchester City in England. As outstanding a soccer player as he is, he is an even more outstanding human being. He is a gentleman on and off the field and contributor to numerous charities.
He posted a joke on twitter, comparing a child picture of his good friend and teammate Mendy to a cartoon that appears on Spanish chocolate bar wrappers as a good natured jibe.
He has been suspended and fined 50K pounds.

Folks, this is just silly. A good friend of mine, who is black, bestowed upon me the nickname PWB (Pale White Boy) way back in college and it still is heard from time to time even today. And it’s funny and there is no malicious intent.
I hate the pc culture we live under today.

I like that they suspend the player for posting an image on chocolate bars in Spain and they're all like "fine that dude" instead of "wtf is wrong with Spain" lol.

I think of some of the stuff my college buddies and I said to each other back then (and even today on occasion) and realize I’d never be able to hold a job anywhere if that shite came out

Same here.
In my apartment complex, my roomy and I were the only non athletes, pretty much. This is my PC way of saying we were one of few white folks.
Anyway, like everywhere else in the south, everyone got along swimmingly. We all hung out together, partied together, and always talked shite to each other. Today's SJWs would have had a shite fit if they heard any of these convos.
One of our best moments was we had this cat who was a big time player. He tried to frick everyone's GF. Needless to say he got his arse beat often.
Anyway, one day, his roommate comes to me and says "Hey E, I need you to do me a favor. I know you are great at impersonations. Call our house now and leave XXX a message. (for you youngsters, this was before cell phones. this was a land line). Tell him you know he's been fricking around with your girl and you are gonna kill him. Make sure to use as much ghetto slang as you can".
So, I did, and I must say it was one of my best ones. An hour later, ole boy comes home, hears the message, then comes to my apartment shaking and nearly in tears asking if he can borrow my gun. LOLOLOLOL
We let that ride for about a week before we told him. Yes, I called back a few times in that week too with more threats. Dude didn't leave his house. Never went to class, and even skipped work because he was afraid he would get shot.
When he found out, he didn't even get mad at me. He took it out on his roomy. Thank goodness.

Mendy already basically said it was a joke between friends.
