He was probably resuscitated several times. We have to wait for the autopsy but doubt the pd would release info that could so easily be proven wrong with documentation. Interested to know if he was resuscitated before the ambulance got there.

I see. Paramedics, doctors and nurses conspired to cover up police brutality.

According to the report today, medical personnel were already there, and he stopped breathing after he was loaded into the ambulance.
eta - and yes, I too want to see the autopsy. Unless of course, the medical examiner is in on the fix as well.

What liability would they have had? Wouldn't they have much more by saying he was breathing when they got him, with him dying? Seems it would be better on their part, if he was unresponsive from the time they reached him.
This isn't Minority Report.

I think there is more of an inceptive for crime labs to fake results that a medical examiner, who is elected usually, to hide a murder.
I remember reading about a city that paid their Crime Lab only for convictions, which is obviously the wrong way to go about things.

Wrongful death.

They have much less to lose by saying he was alive and died of things other than directly inflicted injuries.
You really think the officers on the scene wanted to tell the lady her husband was dead? What do you think?
quote:
"Papa! Is he OK? He doesn't move. He doesn't move! You kill him! You kill him! You killed my husband! Please somebody tell me that he's alive!" she screams. A police officer assures Nair Rodriguez that her husband is alive and that medical personnel will take care of him.

But the EMTs wouldn't' lie and get themselves held liable.

I don't think the EMT's can declare someone dead, or would have told the family he's "ok." They'll probably testify to what the lady saw, that he was non responsive.

What happened to the original video? That video in the link is only 51 seconds, the other one was six minutes.

This is the part that sends up a red flag for me. What happened before the video rolled that led her to jump to the "he's dead" conclusion instead of "he's hurt?" Someone smacks around my husband, I think he's hurt. I don't assume he's dead.

I've only seen the 51 second version. That's why it's hard for me to come to any conclusions, without more info..

quote:The video is what it is.
Two things.
Cops sometimes lie to protect their arse on the spot.
City services sometimes lie to cover their liability. Want an example?
Luis Rodriguez is unconscious with significantly discolored facies as soon as he's rolled over. We don't know how long he was held down. But there are clearly 5 cops on him at the outset.
Once he was rolled over, the cops tried to prop him up as if he was sitting. He wasn't. Had they moved away, he would have fallen limply to the ground. He is lifeless, motionless the entire time.
It is not apparent the parameds examined him prior to moving to the ambulance. Meanwhile the cops are extremely interested in disrupting the wife's filming.

Cliffs anyone? 25 pages, what's going on here?

Huge pool of applicants, they get a lot of interest from the lower 48. Juneau is filling 6 new positions now, I'll bet they bring in over 200 to test for the position. High pay, good standard of living in a great community.
On a somewhat related note, one of the old JPD Lts. hit the bottle a couple years ago, lost his job and went bonkers, firing around 100 shots at his former coworkers who came to investigate a domestic violence complaint. They took him without a shot. Wonder what would have happened to a regular citizen?
Thanks for the info, and that's crazy about 100 shots.
How long have you lived in Alaska for? I'm going to Anchorage this summer, and i'm very excited. Never been north of the border.

Oklahoma Bureau of investigations says it will be months before they release their findings.

That is absolutely horrific advice. You should never cooperate with police without legal counsel present and advising you.

Since '94, except for a few months.
You'll love it. Anchorage is a city that has a lot to do for a place it's size, plus the outdoor stuff.
