If not social services which is the largest non military expenditure for any budget, where exactly are the cost savings measures coming from? This should be good lol

Well yeah, it's Utica. Shouldn't everybody?

You too are welcome to list all the budget savings that will not impact social services! This should be really informative

You should take your own advice here. You’re behaving like a petulant child.

You keep talking about budget savings. I don’t know what you mean here or what you’re harping on. I believe this fiscal year’s budget is around $6 billion more than last year’s budget.

By constantly getting bites from an apologist on this matter?
I'll take it.

First it was balanced, then it was justified. That's the pivot, smart guy.

It is literally balanced.

I don’t know what you mean by this.

You’re not making sense. Don’t be pissy. Use express language to describe what you’re trying to say.

Not what I thought the guy would bring to the table but you have to admit maybe he’s onto something. I’m sure there’s things he’d love to waist money on but so far it looks like he’s holding back.
He was able to get the balance by getting a ring bouy from Hochul and a state tax revenue bailout.
Just like we alway say "Susie, since you did your homework and got an A you need to give some of that grade to Hassim who did not do his homework and got a D. It is only fair to share...
Hochul robbed other state programs to help fund NYC budget.

My point is NYC pays the bills for the rest of New York, not the other way around.
Now do federal taxes paid by the top 10% of earners in the US, and how much they get back relative to what they put in.
NYC needs to "pay their fair share".

Frick off, idiot. What I posted is easily understood by anyone with an IQ north of 60.

Let me break this down in terms you can understand: budgets are paid through taxes, taxes are paid at the state and local level for social services (police, schools, fire, hospitals, etc). My question to you since you are in support of the budget proposal is how is the State of New York and the city filling a several billion dollar budget shortfall without cutting social services when taxes are collected for that very purpose?

Not really no. An honest conversation would start with why there was such a shortfall. You however just went with the "well they pay the bulk to the state so the state should make up for it"(paraphrased).
That was too simplistic. I had to throw a line. I knew you would bite. It was fun while it lasted.

You don’t even understand what a balanced budget is, Susan. You just want to bitch about something.

Mandani is putting money to the payment of bills. I absolutely agree with that idea on urban governance.
But what are your thoughts on the gaslighting that he had such a turn around, and how democratic socialists are teaching people a lesson??

I own a business. I am losing 1 million a year. I tell my shareholders I’m going to raise prices by 1 million dollars and will be a ok….that is basically how he balanced a budget.
