Even so, paying sales tax does not give them the right to set up camp/home in the park.
If someone cannot afford a home, where would you allow them to sleep? Mars?

Well I certainly agree with you on these two knuckleheads.

Link of these posts of mine that supports expanded government. It should be easy since your claims every post I’ve ever made does this.
You made an entire thread about how the government fails foster kids and should do more.
You have made threads criticizing Louisiana for not funding (or considering not funding) school meal programs during the summers.
Both of these things are expanded government. These are just off the top of my head. I don't need to delve into your crazy arse post history on a Friday afternoon.

I didn’t say the government should do more. I asked what society should do.

I pointed out the hypocrisy of LA government pretending to care about babies and kids but not actually caring about if they have food.

FYI, there are homeless people, and then there are unsheltered people. Homeless individuals are generally not living in parks because they usually receive assistance, as they are not struggling with mental disorders or addiction.
For those individuals, there are numerous housing options available. Section 8 is the most common, but there are also LIHTC housing programs, local public housing authorities, and more.
This doesn’t even include the homeless shelters or charities that exist.
The truth you fail to acknowledge is that most unsheltered people are homeless due to addiction or mental health issues.
Those people still do not have the right to take over a park and be a public nuisance because they paid some sales tax on a sandwich once.

Even I don’t play these semantics games. “Unsheltered” is homeless.

So who are homeless people according to your definition? People waking from their houses to their cars?
quote:The waiting list for section 8 is years long if it’s even open at all in most places. There are more than 20,000 families on the waiting list in New Orleans. In Lake Charles, Public Housing and Section 8 waiting lists are currently CLOSED and not accepting new applications at this time per the housing authority’s website.

The most common housing assistance is shelters, which are often full.

This doesn’t even include the homeless shelters or charities that exist.

LOL, OK. Foster kids are currently taken care of through a government program. Any expansion of that would also be a government program.

You wanted the government to expand a government program, as I stated.

They’re all closed and most are abandoned or repurposed by now. It’s not like we can just reopen them.

This really needs to be done, the overreaction to what flew over the cuckoos nest and some bad abuse scandals basically ended mental institutions, and know we just put crazy people in jail

Do you consider restructuring government programs expanding them?

As I stated, I pointed out the hypocrisy of LA lawmakers sky screaming about saving babies and kids but not actually caring if their basic needs are met.

Not on public streets or in public parks.
I can't even make a minor alteration to my business without multiple permits and inspections, yet a homeless person can erect a living structure on a public thoroughfare.
It is impossible to justify the concept of zoning laws and building restrictions, while also allowing homeless people to live on public streets, parks and sidewalks.
Put them in jail, put them in institutions, make Soylent Green out of them, IDGAF. They are making the world miserable for millions of people. It's a sad fact that a certain percentage of the population is not compatible with civilized life.

How would you take care of foster kids past 18 without an expansion?
Government programs only expand. They don't retract. If you restructure, you are just expanding, because the current expenditures will not cease.

So you were not actually for expanding the school meals program into the summer? You wanted to kids to go hungry during the summer? You were just joking about being for it?

Why do you think you can detain someone
As far as for the homeless....
For the good of society.
Besides, homeless are a major health concern for all. They are more suseptable to infectious disease. Couple that with their prevalence in urban areas and that is trouble waiting to happen.
I mean it is for the greater safety (slightly sarcastic, but dead serious).

It doesn’t matter what I think or you think.
Also point out that what you or I think most certainly matters. Isn't that what voting is for. I really wish they would put this to popular vote across the country. I would wager that your stance would lose....democratically of course.

Thanks.
I outgrew the Libertarian mindset when I turned 30. It has some good ideas but doesn’t exactly transpose into pragmatism for reality.
It’s similar to Communism in that aspect.
