I'm sure there will be some more, but just think of a scenario where a teen is a runaway and they locate the teen. If there isn't specific information as to a crime going on, it becomes difficult to arrest anyone, especially dealing with different jurisdictions/states. Even if it is an extreme situation and that teen is involved in drug dealing or prostitution, they aren't doing that every moment of every day, you know.
The sad/shitty part is that if these 163 follow the national trends, a large portion are going right back to foster care, where they're likely to end up back in the same scenario.

If a teen runs away from foster care, who is there to actually arrest? Because that's what at least some of these are.
People need to get out of their heads that all 163 of these kids were kidnapped and locked in cages. They weren't.

That would depend more on where they end up than the runaway part.
Since they are minors without proper paperwork having runaway status, their only economic options are the black market.
Engaging in black market economics will put them in contact with criminals, and those criminals can have varying levels of criminal culpability based on their behavior, from contributing to the delinquency to trafficking.
Not to make light of the scenario, but young people leaving home and ending up in prostitution has been a societal meme since Ancient Mesopotamia. There is a reason this scenario keeps being repeated in every society for 8,000+ years.

The fact that a Florida agency appears to have led the charge leads me to believe that all the kids recovered were American kids (from Florida). Unaccompanied American minors scattered across the globe should garner more of a reaction, right? Or maybe I'm just totally out of touch.
Even if these are predominately foster kids, how does a foster kid secure a passport and end up in Ghana or Finland?

I truly hate that I am going to say this, but I agree with SFP here. Look, any locating of children who are not being cared for by their proper guardians is a great thing and I will not downplay that. HOWEVER I'd like to know what percentage of those 163 are custody battles, what percentage are runaways, and how much of that number were truly stealing and trafficking children. I ask that because the "News" i've seen on this leads with pictures and vingettes of children in caged basements and gives the impression of the darkest type of trafficking.
The news stories might as well start with a close up of someone with their mouth agape.

The ones abroad are almost certainly taken there via family and part of the "custody dispute" group. You'd run into major jurisdiction issues with that, too.

Yes, that's laudable. This was a major operation that resulted in 163 critically missing minors being found. That's the big news. This doesn't happen often and the AG's speech focuses on this item. If we truly focus on this issue, we can achieve these results.

I don't think that anyone is denying you that information, it just has not yet been made public. Indeed, contrary to some of the misinformation, I don't think anyone objects to your asking.
Nevertheless, the arrests are less than 10 days old. Prescott doesn't have a next action and R. Ferral Allison isn't going to be arraigned until 9/28. I don't even know if the attorneys have that info.
The import is the recovered children and the scope and size of the recovered children. If you are just looking at Pedo arrest numbers, this is what the Sunshine State has in the recent year.

I found one source that said more arrests are expected in this operation but it was just cited to a "spokesman". Regardless, the great state of Florida is doing yeoman's work in prevention, recovery of children and in operations designed to catch predators.

The broken college system along with journalism is what has done this to us. We've completely abandoned the idea that your argument even has to have internal logic and be consistent with itself. The only point is to develop a narrative that you can stick to to The Bitter End and expand upon it to defeat your enemies! We have now reached the logical conclusion where everybody has abandoned even attempting to stay internally consistent with their arguments. It's more important to just bludgeon the other side.
All you have to do is spend a few minutes watching YouTube videos of 20 somethings in college confronted in debate by anybody who disagrees with them. You can tell that none of them have even made an attempt to develop the concept of question and answer
