See guys like you need fricking "right now" headlines, but dont understand the long term efforts needed to actually fix some things that doge exposed. You dont know how to change things, cause all you care about is short term headlines....not real work

If you can't define "Elites" in any sense, you have no business posting on a political forum.
IMO y’all are way off on this. It’s not a matter of whether one can define the term or not, it’s a matter of what your definition is versus what my definition is versus what the next guy’s is. In all likelihood, each of them would vary anywhere from a little to a whole lot.
Thus, how would you reasonably expect to have a rational discussion on the topic, or any topic for that matter (including whether MAGA has “succeeded” or whether a given action is/was in alignment with America First, etc), if key concepts within the discussion are viewed differently by different people?? If you’re not on the same page as to the very meanings of the overall subject? That’s what this is about.

So in your opinion...."Elites" are "shadowry figures"? Is that your final answer, Counselor??
Nope. I think the politicians are the bad actors. How come you haven’t answered my question yet?

Said no one ever about Donald Trump.
There’s your cliché conspiracy theory.
The question is posed by far more observers than you imagine. Of course Trump is going to reinforce the position as Strong Man. But IS the so-called Office of the Presidency the real decision maker? Or is it just the face and public facade for the real power behind the global elites' curtain?
Do you believe Donald Trump himself is coming up with ideas -- like vaporizing "drug boats" and regime change?
Etal policies:
- The plan to aid Isreal in demolishing Gaza -- then cleaning up the bloody mess?
- The Tariffs brainchild?
- Deciding AI Data Centers, AI Bio-metric IDs, and the Surveillance-Skynet State shuld be THE MAGA priority on Day One?
- Did Trump make THE decision to NOT release and un-redact the Eppy Files an flip-flop several times?
Was it Trump made the decision to prosecute exactly ZERO of his supposed tormentors and hoaxers and seditionists who set him up or snatched his election victory?
Is it possible someone or some other "shadowy group" is steering the ship so to speak? And has been since the 90s?

There is nothing America First anymore about this administration or MAGA.
Wannabe gatekeepers (who backed Cruz in 16 and DeSantis in 24 but now lecture us all on what MAGA actually is) smear and censor the actual America First voices in a clear coordinated hit job
The idea was to co opt MAGA from the inside and purge the actual America First populists and steer the GOP back to endless wars and only caring about crony capitalist corporate donors
Id say they have succeeded. They crave non stop war and wish nothing more than to relive the Bush glory days of America Last neoconservatism
They will throw the base a bone about transgenders or opposing woke DEI while selling out the country
Neocons are Trotsky Marxists, so they hate conservatives as much as the Lenin Marxists democrats.

Imho I think the majority might differ somewhat but would generally come very close to a consensus as to defining "The Elites". Good stand-alone thread subject too.

That's the obviously bone stuck in the craw, isn't it? We must find common ground on a shared reality. (bamashoreman posted a provocative thread loosely on how folks seem to have forked into two different "realities" .)
What seems to be "reasonable" and "logical" is considered "insane" or "way off" by others. I don't recognize this bi-direction perspective of reality and events as necessarily bad, but healthy. But it should give pause to people to consider narratives outside the mainstream.

I should by now presume you haven't a clue how "The elites" are defined. That's ok. I'm not surprised.
Elites:
A group or class or cartel of persons considered to be superior to others because of their intelligence, social standing, or wealth. They may also declare themselves so special and privileged that they own things they shouldn't -- like nations, people, and God-given natural rights. But not openly or transparently. Often with strings attached.
Some other observers also note that some "elites" believe they alone define and own the mechanisms and loopholes of law -- along with all its resources, including all land, all air, and all seas. If you actually passed the bar, you should know all these things and more.

“Elites” may well be a “lesser” example, but when it comes to the other examples I referenced, I definitely believe it’s extremely consequential in such weighty cases as those. And many others, of course. But when it comes to discussion of whether a President has failed or succeeded, or somewhere in between, on any number of issues, thus figuring into the perception of xyz President (and his party, of equal importance in that discussion), it’s pretty crucial to be on the same page in that context.

Sounds great! CELEBRATE!!
Oh wait. You think something will happen to the bad guys?
Like everything else, these "exposed shenanigans" like DOGE, USAID-Minnesota-California theft of gazillions are just a temporary dog and pony show distraction for the political naifs.
These "Busted!!" cases and FFs are nothing but psyops calculated to draw you away from noticing the scent and stench of the AI Data-Surveillance State Centers, soft miltary occupations in US cities, and other nonsense.
Like everything else there will be ZERO prosecutions and jail-time at Alcatraz for the criminals. Unless they want to fire up Dummie Court TV again.

Hold on Baba-Louie. YOU guys are the ones that get all stoked up about these screeching headlines; The rest of us can't help but notice smoke & mirrors aren't any substitute for actual justice or indictments of the bad guys.

It’s true. It’s Trump first, billionaires first, Israel first, Argentina first now.

I agree in principle. We'd all love to be on the same page as the President, concurring with his agenda and priorities. But what if they don't appear to reflect "America First" or "making America great"?
The President must begin prosecuting obvious evil and bad guys. Across the board. We would have thought by Day One heads would begin rolling. But....no.
If the Trump Admin is gonna keep on stalling on enforcing justice, he's signalling something that's not good. Like some external force is stirring the sauce. And we''re watching a puppet show.

In some ways Trump has exceeded expectations.
But yeah him pussyfooting around with H1B and not actually draining the swamp (and pushing to get DOGE cuts codified and permanent) has been frustrating. Those were big issues for me.

So regarding the “external force” matter, and I’m not being dismissive here, but that suggestion leads me to this question: Would whomever or whatever is actually pulling the strings either be of leftist leaning or rightist leaning, an either/or situation, and as such the resulting power struggle between the two differing factions/interests? Or is it more a “uniparty” situation, thus power struggle wouldn’t or doesn’t play into it? The reason I ask is because it would seem in the situation of uniparty type regime, and those who are actually pulling the strings essentially have absolute power, then why do we even ever see such highly contentious elections? It wouldn’t seem to matter one way or another whether it’s a Democrat or Republican in office…..they would be “following” the same “orders” either way, correct? Is it all precisely scripted Theater?
