Tarver, who is deeply troubled about the veto of SB156 and really considering the override. Could be convinced of the constitutional carry bill but I heard "Wild Wild West" so I don't know. Told him I'd send an email listing out why that's not the case and he appreciated it.
Well Greg Tarver already voted FOR HB 118, so when you send that email, be sure to ask him why he's changed his mind.
Concerns about "wild wild west" doesn't fly, because that argument was well laid out plenty before the House vote on the bill.

HB118 was the 2A sanctuary bill by Rep. Frieman. But looking at SB118, he didn't vote against it. Absent

People in this state are so fricking stupid and emotional. One of these is not like the other.
One is a constitutionally-protected right that has been with us since the beginning of the country, the other one just makes sense and deals with entertainment.
Which one do you think is more important that we get right?
Constitutional rights are always secondary to the ability to make money off your fellow man.
Hell, if the CC bill was the only thing on the table, I doubt we'd even see a session at all.

SB is what I meant.
And Greg Tarver voted for it. He was one of the 73 YES votes. He did not join as a co-sponsor like Francis Thompson did.

Tarver is an old school politico aka he will use his vote as a bargaining chip. The Senate President has some sway there, but it's hard to beat the governor. Count that as a loss. But the Senate isn't the real battle ground. Republicans by themselves have a 2/3rds majority.
The real battle is for the house. And it will be uphill.

Maybe it's just the upcoming 4th of July weekend and there's some special celebration going on but I've noticed a few of the legislators with apartments in the barracks are back in town.

Hey I see what's messing us up here. There's a Phillip Tarver in the house and a Greg Tarver in the Senate. P Tarver did vote for it. The Greg Tarver in the Senate is Dempcrat and voted no once and was absent the other. Sorry for the mix up. Senator Greg Tarver was the one I spoke to against the gun bill but possibly yes for SB156.

Ahh…thanks for the clarification.
Yeah, Greg Tarver’s been in Louisiana politics forever.
