Spot on.
Then you have his complete hypocritical side. For example, campaigning against the Louisiana good ole boy network, then endorsing EWE's former right hand guy, John Alario, as Senate President.
Also, instance like the repeal of Stelly income tax increase. Fought it behind the scenes in committee, then when it finnaly happened, ran radio ads declaring that HE gave that tax break to LA citizens.
The author of the bill was quoted on record stating Jindal Administration never lifted a finger to help the repeal bill and in fact tried to kill it on a couple attempts.

-David Vitter will start the 2015 race for Governor as a pretty strong early favorite. He has a 51/33 approval spread, some of the best numbers we've seen for him during his time in the Senate. Vitter leads in hypothetical match ups with Democrats Mitch Landrieu (50/37) and John Bel Edwards (51/30), and would also have the upper hand against fellow Republican Jay Dardenne (41/29) if two candidates from their party made it through to the runoff.
Do you know if the question re Vitter v. Dardenne was only posed to the Republican primary voters in the sample or did everyone get asked that question?
Wait, did they really ask the question this way?

I get the feeling that if it ends up being Vitter and Dardenne in a runoff, Dardenne wins.

You would be correct. Many of the anti-oil & gas trial lawyer segment believe Dardenne to be the only thing standing between Vitter and the Guv's mansion. Many of them have been dumping money into Dardenne's campaign rather than an actual Democrat.

I get that. Just wondering if that particular question was posed only to the "Republican primary voters" sampled in the poll. PPP might do that as part of their methodology but I'm not sure. Can't tell from the detailed release.

Edwards hasn't exactly been winning people over on the left.
I'd even consider Dardenne (if that tells you anything

What?? You don't think they should run Sam Jones, Barbara Norton or Stephen Ortego? No KPC??

His dumb arse wants to double down on mandatory minimums though. He's tried to wiggle out of this position by saying he wouldn't include mary jane but I'm pretty sure his proposal included all Sched 1 drugs.
Telling you, if Dardenne can stake out some moderate positions relative to Vitter, he will get some looks.

Overall: Vitter 41, Dardenne 29
Republicans Only: Vitter 63, Dardenne 21
Democrats Only: Dardenne 37, Vitter 24
Independent/Other Only: Vitter 34, Dardenne 27

I'm really split between the two. I don't know enough about Dardenne's positions to make an informed choice. Based on character and record (that I know of), Dardenne looks like the answer.

Darrdene is not beating vitter... With that said the more interesting race will be who replaces Vitter in the Senate?

Has he said he is not seeking reelection in the Senate?
I haven't really been paying attention

I agree with this. My money would be on Charles Boustany Jr. taking on a sitting congressman from North Louisiana, Mitch Landreiu or Kip Holden, and some random "Tea Party" guys from South Louisiana or the Northshore.

Yeah... I'm ready for some new blood in the conservative political realm. I'm curious what Hollis does in the Senate race and could be a good way to get some name recognition. I don't see him being too much of a challenge to Cassidy at this point.
Would Dardene run for Senate?
