Medicare and Medicaid then bankrupt hospitals by not baying full reimbursement rates for their patients.
Medicare is the standard for reimbursement. Everyone accepts Medicare.

Indeed. I would gladly take a pay cut to have single payer system and be a doctor who doesn’t have their hands tied by insurance companies. Insurance companies suck billions out the health care industry in profits without providing any services. You understand that is a problem right?
You will change your mind when you aren't low man on the totem pole.

You do realize you posted that link in defense of your point that ER visits were down due to the expansion?
My point is uninsured ER visits are down due to expansion. Uninsured ER visits are what drains the hospitals resources. Second link proved uninsured ER visits are down. I’m not sure why you’re finding this so difficult to comprehend.

“Our results suggest that the coverage part of the ACA Medicaid expansion is working,” Nikpay said. “People who need care can access care. However, it isn’t surprising that emergency department visits didn’t fall because even if you gained Medicaid coverage, the ACA did little to make primary care more accessible, for example, offering evening and weekend hours.”

Medicaid doesn't own assets. Interesting.

Amazing what happens when people get access to primary care instead of flooding the ER. But what do I know, I’m only 4 years out of medical school.
Not reading the dumbassery in this thread but for a poor, dumb state medicare expansion saves money. Not many here will admit that.

Well yeah when you expand Medicaid

Yes, and so do Medicaid patients as reimbursement are usually terribly slow and not in full for services rendered. Also, I as a tax payer am paying for this expansion.

False. Uninsured pts pay a higher rate and total dollars more than Medicaid pts do.

False. 90+% of uninsured patients never have payments collected.
Posted on 12/7/17 at 6:17 pm to OpenYourEyesSheeple
Wait.....are you under the impression that Medicaid insurance is free?
If a Medicaid patient goes to the ER, his treatment is not cheaper than an uninsured patient. The difference is the taxpayer is paying the copay

No one is this ignorant of the real world applications of Medicaid therefore...
You are an alter having fun which makes you a nerd or a college kid who just joined College Dems and are spouting what you are being told which also makes you a nerd
Either way......

Well, this is only half true. Uninsured patients do pay a higher rate than medicaid WHEN THEY PAY!
The problem is the uninsured indigent who receives services at the ER and then never pays. The whole medical system is like a snake that swallowed an antelope. Every portion of the system just keeps shifting costs and bilking people to shoulder the costs of two groups: indigents at the ER (federal unfunded mandate levied by EMTALA), and those with chronic illness in the final two months of life.
Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, ridiculous medical bills, etc are all being used to cover those costs.
The other big cost driver is prescription drugs thanks to tons of crony FDA medical trials f&%kery.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with your career path or your motivations. I am purely throwing shade on your understanding of how money flows through our governmental healthcare and insurance system and your general complete ignorance of life, history, and human nature in general.

BIngo- like most doctors, he’s totally unaware of insurance reimbursements and how they work.
If we went to single payer, he’d be the first in line screaming about not making enough money to pay off his medical school student loans.
