The Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) is extending the deadline for all state taxes due July 15, 2020. The extended deadline is Friday, July 17.

A state computer network connectivity problem has slowed down or made inaccessible several LDR web applications including the income tax filing application Louisiana File Online and the business tax management portal Louisiana Taxpayer Access Point (LaTAP).

This isn’t a “rub it in your face” post by any means.
But I genuinely feel so badly for those who live in states that collect state taxes.
Each year when I do my taxes ... I reach the portion of filing state taxes and am able to click “skip;” I’m so grateful.

Hopefully La will extend the deadline indefinitely.

If you don't pay state tax then you're paying exorbitant property tax to make up the difference. The state will get their cut one way or another.

or another delay in having to pay taxes, which is the case for me. I don't let the government earn interest on my money until required by law.

I’m with you. So thankful we have it in our state constitution that we can’t have a state income tax. But I guess one could also live in Nashville and enjoy their ridiculous property taxes

No joke, the Louisiana DoR is the biggest joke of an organization I've ever seen. Can't wait to change my tax residency over.

I just spent about 3 hours between different call center people because they were telling me I couldn't an email some .pdf forms I needed to send in. Were requiring me to fax it. I haven't seen a fax machine in a decade.

This. People suck off Texas due to no income tax. But the property taxes are through the roof. Granted, they do a much better job than LA in terms of public education and infrastructure. But Uncle Sam will get his one way or another.
