It's more like 60-70%. It's the same racially and economically as the Mississippi Delta across the river. Water may separate them but there's really no difference culturally.

St Helena is 54-41 Black/White. But GOP has closed the gap from D+43 in 1976 to D+10 in 2020.

I just assumed all rurul LA parishes voted Republican and were mostly white. Guessssss not.
