I hear you. However, being the country with the most freedom to make your own choices, good or bad, will inevitably lead to many bad decisions.

Even this is not necessary if you took a poll of your family members.

How many years do you expect its going to take to process them? Is this now the game plan for America, allow illegals in forever and build detention centers for the taxpayers to go into further debt for? Just an excuse to trample on the rights of the American people in the name of "finding all the illegals they allowed in the country to start with".

How about - build some fricking airports and put some people with guns on the border. That's what a real solution looks like.

this lynch mob of fricking idiots will never listen

this is why the GOP is doomed

they want to break the budget just so they can imagine a dishwasher or a hotel housekeeper getting eaten by crocodiles while trying to escape prison

I guess this is a product of, hell, even worse than the prosperity gospel idiots

Do private companies build and manage these prisons? Any of you baws in this business? I imagine it’s lucrative. Plenty of tenants and demand!

It will be very lucrative if the BBB passes:

quote:

SEC. 90003. DETENTION CAPACITY.
(a) IN GENERAL.—In addition to any amounts otherwise appropriated, there is appropriated to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for fiscal year 2025, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to remain available until September 30, 2029, $45,000,000,000, for single adult alien detention capacity and family residential center capacity.

Is that how it works?

you know exactly that it does not take building new prisons to get illegals deported

you're being completely dishonest, and that's between you and God

You think the amount of deportations the Trump admin is planning on carrying out is possible with the current infrastructure? One of the few functions the federal government is actually constitutionally allowed to perform is border and national security. And this is where you want to bitch about them spending money? Not on the 95% of the things it does that it is constitutionally barred from doing, but here?

Nobody.

The point wasn't to build an actual airport, it was that we need to be moving them out as quickly as possible, not finding ways to house them longer term like a prison.

In short, ship them home ASAP.

As I mentioned earlier, after all these years we still have gitmo open. It keeps less than 40 people inside it, has over 1800 soldiers operating it, 300 civilian contractors and costs around 600 million per year - about the same as the ones now will cost.

To keep less than 40 people we supposedly pay 600 million per year. And it's been open for decades now.

I don't want 3 more of those fricking things.
