Yep. No telling what kind of damage this is going to do in the long haul. Nearly a year of school (if not more when this is all over), all gone. These smart kids who live in extremely abusive households that had a chance to make something of themselves, many of these people’s dreams are going in the toilet. It will take at least 5 years for us to understand the damage this will do, if not longer.

The Governor of FL is standing ground right now as he understands this long view. We will see if there is to much pressure to delay. I worried he will. There is no such thing as virtual school to 1st and 3rd graders. And they don't understand deadlines...job performance...and why you can't play throughout the day...but they do understand that if there is a conf call...they can get away with more

What are working parents suppose to do?

It's almost like this is going to have an effect on the national economy that the federal government should have been able to anticipate and prepare for.

That seems to be the goal of some. When you have an ends justify the means mentality....poor working class can take it on the chin as long as the outcome is the desired one

These dim Phucks, destroying kids and families abilities here . So they go to online classes ( yeah like that’ll work ) which requires a computer but complaining when voter id’s are required because of cost .

It is waaaaay too early for any district to make this call right now. To do so if purely for political reasons, and just goes to show how the Democrats are more interested in winning elections, than what's important for we the people.

These are the people who can't sit at home with the kids because they have to work and rely on the schools for free lunch

That's exactly how I determine my picks for political candidates...who has the best contingency plans for when we blow the effects of a new virus way out of proportion? It was close in '16, I just wasn't on board with Hillary's plan for schools

Well the upside is that football and basketball recruiting just got a bit easier on the West Coast — no player will fail a test now.

We just need to split the state

You do understand that if you split Cali into three states then you probably add four more Dem U.S. Senators to Congress.

Considering they closed for the spring when infection rates were a fraction of current rates, they should have seen it as a possibility.

All summer long, we haven't heard any steps being taken by DeVos or anyone at DeptEd (best practices, guidelines, etc.) Schools reopening in the fall has been a concern for months.
