Looks like a pedo.

At any rate, do you guys really believe all this stuff? I don't get it myself but to each his own, I guess.

This is the prayer of Jesus

it serves as lesson, a framework for all prayer

so it's in need of editing?

no

Well, if they can just change stuff in the bible they might as well get rid of any commandments they don't like and add some they think should be in there.

Once again, we have a Catholic entity trying to destroy faith by attacking the Lord's Prayer. It is not the first, nor will it be the last time they try.

I am not a Catholic priest but I do know the word "Father" in the Lord's Prayer has nothing to do with an earthly father and everything to do with our Heavenly Father.

I also know if you apply numbers to the Pope's title, which is Vicarius Filii Dei (Vicar of the Son of God) using the value of Roman numerals, the sum of the letters in that title is 666.

Here’s how the calculation works. As in Greek and Hebrew, some Latin letters are used for numbers. “I” = 1; “V” = 5; “X” = 10; “L” = 50; “C” = 100; “D” = 500; “M” = 1000. Letters that have no numerical value are to be ignored in calculating the numerical significance of a name. The letter “U” is treated as “V.” Since there is no “W” in Latin, it is rendered as “VV.”

The Latin title Vicarius Filii Dei, then, would be VICARIVS FILII DEI. Now apply this numbering scheme to it. You get these numbers: 5 (V) + 1 (I) + 100 (C) + 1 (I) + 5 (V) + 1 (I) + 50 (L) + 1 (I); + 1 (I) + 500 (D) + 1 (I). The total is 666.

Therefore, according to many anti-Catholic apologists, Scripture plainly identifies the pope as one of the two beasts who will try to destroy the true faith.

We all do it, but I think Jesus' intentions were for this prayer to be said by individuals and families. It was not intended to be used as a corporate prayer

But as to the Archbishop, I am starting to wonder if Catholic leadership are Christian at all. More PC gibberish.

Our Church just disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church. In fact, 189 did so in Mississippi alone. We are now a part of the Global Methodist Church which follows Wesleyan principles. The heathens in the progressive UMC have been going against the Book of Discipline and ignoring the parts they don't like; like gay marriage, openly gay Bishops, Pastors and the like.

Vicarius Filii Dei is not an official title for the Pope.

Official titles would include Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the Vatican City State, Servant of the servants of God.

The closest title is “Vicar of Jesus Christ” (Latin, Vicarius Iesu Chris- ti), but this does not add up to 666.

When added properly in context, Vicarius Filii Dei is 660 not 666.

Also, the article in the OP is in reference to an Anglican bishop, not a Catholic bishop.

I don't have a problem...I just asked my wife about it. She doesn't have a problem either. Why create one over people that don't really care what else the Bible says anyway

Sadly the top of the Catholic church now worship the devil. I am Catholic. These priest and cardinals and the false Pope are not. Just like most of the republicans in DC are really Dims.

So you claim to be Catholic but also claim to know that we have a "false" Pope? Your comment comparing Repubs vs Dims in DC to matters of the Magisterium is telling. Step back from politics and reexamine your need to submit to mother Church. You are not called to agree with a Pope's opinions, but you are called to recognize the office and fulfillment of Apostolic Succession.

Imagine you are a dutiful Catholic living in the Holy Roman Empire in the year 1410. How do you recognize the office and fulfillment of Apostolic Succession? Which pope do you honor of the three who claimed the office at the same time?

I think we should have a thread on the political board about what some guy in a church 3,000 miles away that no one on this site belongs to says.
