Look at reviews, I have a folding one but you'll want to use it to charge a battery bank, not the phone directly

exactly like I do......

I'm linked in with mapping to do inspections. When hooked up to follow the map I'm charging at the same time.

My Ex Wife and her husband lost all power. They live 15 minutes from the nearest store. He drove to Florida to buy two generators. They've been charging ever since. I told him he should buy a Ford to light it all up on his next truck buy. "Already planned"

Solar phone chargers exist.

Better than nothing, but the units with NOAA AM/FM radio, flashlight, crank charge if solar not option, are better multi purpose than these.

one thing we are pretty used to having when you're from LA, MS, or parts ot TX and AL is a large pot. We all have at least a crawfish boil pot or a cast iron gumbo/jambalaya pot.

We do crawfish boils up north here in TN too Lifestraws are in my bug out bag in case gas/propane aren’t an option. I also carry them when traveling.

My brother is still without power, but he has a generator that he runs intermittently to run his freezer that he is pulling from to cook with, and to power up devises. There’s also charging from vehicles. He still has to go down the street a bit to get cell service.

This is the way. Only need to run generator intermittently to keep fridge cold run a little AC and recharge devices.

On for two or three hours off or five hours typically

Depends on your budget and how prepared you want to be. You can get several different levels of all-in-one generators. All-in-one means batteries and inverter in one package. With those, you can use panels to charge the batteries or plug in to AC power and charge. The kwh is what you want to pay attention to. Just under 4 kwh (4000 watts for an hour, 1000 watts for 4 hours etc) is a out as big as they come, but you can get mutiple backup batteries and expand the capacity significantly.

Solid brands are Bluetti, Ecoflow, Anker and Jackery.

You pay a premium for the all-in-one convenience. You can get 5 kwh Lifepo4 server rack batteries for around $1100 and an inverter to charge them for about the same. Panels are .30 a watt. With a little knowledge and research you can build a system for significantly cheaper per watt hour than the all-in-one setup.

I'm just saying it is far less common.
