I'm no Alex Jones defender. Dude is an idiot. Running his mouth about Sandy Hook like he did was classless.

BUT

Are we not a country of free speech?

Alex Jones played no roll in the death of those poor children but he was fined way more than anyone who did.

How much was the school penalized for not providing a safe environment for those kids?

How much was the family of the nutjob who killed these kids fined?

If we want to start penalizing people for sayings stupid stuff lets get rid of that 1st amendment and sue the heck out of everybody who says something stupid.

I got a lot of democrats I could make money off of.

Alex Jones was sued for exercising the 1st ammendment. If he's guilty to the tune of 1.5 billion, what should the penalty be for rachel maddow telling MILLIONS of people that "if you get the vaccine, you will not get covid "? She harmed way more people than Alex Jones

Your inability to see the difference between people defending what he said vs his right to say it, is baffling.

I don't care for what Holocaust deniers have to say, but as an American I believe they have they right to say it.

The mindset you people have is based on the thinking "words" are not allowed to be said based on feelings being hurt. Slippery slope when we chip away, even a little, at foundational truths.

You people would jail so called "COVID deniers," "election deniers" etc etc. GFY with your whining.

Here is a summary of our interaction in here:

Me: I don’t like a settlement of over a billion for someone saying stupid shite and think it sets a bad precedent on the first amendment.

You:

Me: My view on the lawsuit has no bearing on the shooting that already took place. I don’t like the settlement.

You:

Me: I already said what he said was stupid and I don’t even follow him. Again, I don’t like the settlement.

You:

Me: I give up on this dialogue with you. You’re hopeless.

You:

I don’t think you understand what Hell is, nor what constitutes that as a destination, for if you did, you wouldn’t wish that on your worst enemy.

That being said, I don’t think anyone who defended Alex Jones intended it to be construed as endorsing killing kids or hurting family. That’s the other party who rallies in support of that kind of stuff. Regardless of their intentions, I’d have to imagine most people were more in support of free speech than they were anything else. Pure speculation, but if you can’t see the political motivation behind this then you truly have been blinded.

I don’t know a single person who wants to jail anyone for their opinion on Covid or anything else.

It’s pretty fricked up to see someone get so easily manipulated by the media. I can’t find anything where anyone credible said you should go to jail for your opinion on Covid or elections. Yet here you are claiming I want people to go to jail for their opinions.

Tell me again why you think liberals want to jail anyone just for opinions and thoughts? You got that from the media, the same media you claim to not believe. It’s just not true, but like most of maga you can only think with emotions and feelings and struggle to form opinions based on logic. If you used logic, you certainly wouldn’t think that liberals want you to go to jail for your opinions.

Can you disagree with his view and support his right to express his opinion?

Is it more about what he said, or whether he has the right to say it? I'd hope the latter, but I also understand you folks don't give a frick about the Constitution.

you know, all of the parents would rather have THEIR frickING KIDS BACK than be harassed by some fricking nutjob or whatever "profiteering" you claim they all made.

the fact that this board is now defending Alex Jones shouldn't surprise me but it does.

in this case YOU are the a-hole.

The red flag for the current banana republic is when Jones got sued and lost to the tune of 1.5 billion dollars for just having the opinion that Sandy Hook was a hoax. It was a slippery slope that everyone refused to talk about.

When I look back on how that was handled; I knew Trump was going to be found guilty.

"I like ice cream" and "dogs are better than cats" are opinions.

Trying to convince millions of people that Sandy Hook was a hoax is not an opinion.
