In states where the shooter might be deemed the aggressor in your scenario, when does that end?
It seems to vary, ranging from "attempting to disengage" to "completely disengaging."

Why are you even arguing this still after the vid of the dead guy clearly chasing the shooter onto that lot and throwing something at him?

If you were to accept Hanks hypothetical it would basically eliminate the ability to open carry. He knows this. This entire thread is a troll

Reports can be wrong...
Sure. It is one reason that we have these discussions.

There is no justification for charging this kid with murder. None zero zilch nada. He's being charged because the da is a Democrat. That is the sum total of why he's being charged and you know it. And by the way he's going to walk
As a neutral prosecutor, I certainly would not have filed those charges, but a political prosecutor in that jurisdiction may have felt that he had no option.

But the fact remains that the young man WAS charged. I find it interesting to examine the ways in which the prosecutor MIGHT attempt to anticipate and/or respond to the kid's obvious affirmative defense.

If you do not find that analysis interesting, you need not participate.

Most posters here just want a pep rally, where everyone is wearing the same team jersey and chanting the same slogans. A handful like to engage in actual analysis. This thread was directed to the latter group.

So if some one is chasing me and attempts to murder me and misses and then attempts to keep chasing me, I am to assume he’s not out to hurt me anymore and all of a sudden I am the agressor?
Huh? That has ZERO relationship with the questions I have presented. zero.

this is being kind. He's not doing it because he's being forced or pressured. He's doing it because he's a Democrat and this is who the Democrats have become. They've always wanted to criminalize being conservative and they hate the fact that it's legal to carry a gun. This is just a engaged in a political prosecution. We can expect more of this if the Democrats ever get in charge again

Here's my analysis. That prosecutor needs a first-hand demonstration of what first-degree murder actually looks like. Yeah I said it. We can either become Zimbabwe or a lot of liberals can die. Those are literally the two options left on the table

Unlike some of the others, I enjoy your posts and the 'thought experiment'. But, I find this one a bit of a stretch. I still like the thread. Just, not the concept.

I am forced to agree.
I wish it weren’t so but as long as these people have no skin in the game, they will not relent

we are at war, so if somehow this prosecutor disappeared without a trace, I wouldn't be upset.

(and mods, for clarity, I'm not suggesting violence)

The funny thing is that I have always LIKED LSU, going back to when we played back in the '80s. One of my best buddies went to LSU for law school.

I have never understood the hatred between so many fans. Hell, the schools are much alike.

Thanks, and "fair enough."

The prosecutor did file charges and has a tough row to hoe here. I find it interesting to think about which tools he might try to employ.

I find it more interesting to think about him being found at the bottom of a lake

No, no. I don't want anyone to do anything bad.

Just making a prediction about my feelings should something like that happen.

I've already had a visit from the Chicken squad.
