Thanks, I realize that you're probably being sarcastic, but I appreciate the threads you start.

. I think he losses credibility when he makes things up. "Crime is down 70 - 75% in Caracas." Not a big deal to you. I get it.
2015 - 75 murders per 100,000
2023 - 26.3 murders per 100,000
That's 65%. Trunk said 70% and your say he's making up statistics?? Holy shite.

Not sarcastic. Maybe I was wrong. I can admit a mistake and will trust what you are telling me.

You got me chief. Since the Biden/Harris open border policy started in 2016, the Venezuelan murder rate has plummeted. Oh wait, that horrific, traitorous policy didn't start until FIVE years later, in 2021.
No one could honestly dispute that the open border policy has been disastrous and driven up crime in America. I just don't think it helps the Trump campaign to make up statistics.
Happy to be wrong and eat crow if you can find statistics during the RELEVANT period, 2021 to present. Cheers

I thought it was a meandering press conference, he should have led with the news that he will seize cartel assets and led with the 3 minute AD on the poor girl murdered in Texas.
At this point, I think he's better off to just not mention the PR joke thing instead of apologizing for it. The news cycle moves so fast that people will be onto something else in a day or two.

Agreed. He knocked it out of the park with the assets seizure announcement. The videos and testimony were also compelling.

This is the best I could find on Venezuela's murder rate trend. So from this, looks like the base number for comparison is 29.43 in 2020.
So, 26.3 in 2023 IS a drop...it's just not a 70% one. I realize we might be looking at different sources.
Where did you get your numbers? What was the homicide rate in 2020, the year before the implementation of the Harris open border?
"Venezuela Murder/Homicide Rate 1990-2024
• Murder/Homicide Rate
Intentional homicides are estimates of unlawful homicides purposely inflicted as a result of domestic disputes, interpersonal violence, violent conflicts over land resources, intergang violence over turf or control, and predatory violence and killing by armed groups. Intentional homicide does not include all intentional killing; the difference is usually in the organization of the killing. Individuals or small groups usually commit homicide, whereas killing in armed conflict is usually committed by fairly cohesive groups of up to several hundred members and is thus usually excluded.
• Venezuela murder/homicide rate for 2021 was 19.31, a 34.4% decline from 2020.
• Venezuela murder/homicide rate for 2020 was 29.43, a 28.2% decline from 2019.
• Venezuela murder/homicide rate for 2019 was 40.98, a 14.58% decline from 2017.
• Venezuela murder/homicide rate for 2017 was 47.98, a 15.26% decline from 2016."
