Lincoln stove pipe hat: not worth $6.5 million

The Chicago Tribune saw the mulimillion dollar purchase (with borrowed funds) as a typical Illinois scheme where something was bound to go wrong.
It wasn't even Lincoln's size
The $6.5 million assessed value of the hat - important to the borrowing of funds, did not meet the sniff test of authenticity. Wrong size, no Lincoln DNA, family bought from didn't know the story back when 'Lincoln gave somebody the hat"
It's both sad and predictable and wasteful that curators just didn't do due diligence.

This country was STUPID enough to elect a completely unqualified community organizer who was without question the BIGGEST FAILURE of a President in at a minimum the last 150 years.........
and he was living in Illinois at the time......so I'm not surprised.

Even if it had been the real article it wouldn't be worth a penny to me. Lincoln was a domestic terrorist who directed the war of northern aggression and it's war crimes on innocent people across the south. The son of a bitch will never be a hero to me.
