The new world wasn’t some utopian Gaia before we arrived. It was occupied by people, and while people can kind be kind and decent, they can also be awful.

Eh, let's not act like the settlers had moral superiority here. Sure the Indians had Savage tribes that were equally, if not more, brutal.
But let's not act like they didn't get the raw end of the deal when settlers showed up.
Also, an argument can be made that Indians were more civilized (barring technology of course) than the Europeans.

The usual thing that retarded regressives do these days, ruin everything that is a beautiful tradition, when all families can sit down and find something to be grateful for, when they can hold hands and look around and be amazed at the blessings we have been given!
