Not a liberal, but when tax rates are the exact same for everyone then it is not trickle down.
IOW every group should have to pay the exact same %.
That way everyone has the exact same skin in the game.
Otherwise it is nothing more than larger groups using the government gun to steal smaller groups to pay for benefits the larger group wants.

Thanks. Interesting stuff. I'll dive deeper into it later if I have a chance.

a working poor person shouldn't pay the same percentage as a wealthy person but he should pay something. Your right in that everyone should have some 'skin in the game'. It chaps my arse to see someone who makes 20k a year getting a 7k tax refund due to the earned income credit when they only paid maybe 2k in taxes into the system . But I can't see having someone who makes 20k a year paying the same percentage as someone who makes 200k, or someone who makes 200k paying the same percentage as someone who makes 2 million a year. A wealthier person should pay a higher percentage because they were able to reap more of the fruit that the American economic system provided for them to harvest.

The "Top Rate on Regular Income" in 1952 and 1953 was 92%. The rate for the rest of the 50's was 91%.
