Liberals should support guns rights

In 2021, 54% of the gun deaths in the US were from suicide.. Given liberals love for legal suicide you'd think they would be more supportive of using guns to hasten suicide.

They don't like people knowing that stat, because they lump those deaths in with all the murders to inflate the numbers.

That can be done with a single-shot .410, which they aren't coming for. They just want to remove anything that allows the citizenry to challenge their power.

Its like lumping 17 year olds with 4 years olds and saying gun deaths is the leading cause of deaths in 4 year olds.

I've heard a similar argument against Republicans. "If Republicans are so pro-life, then why are they so pro-guns?"

Many do. Marx wrote about working class staying armed and the Socialist Rifle Association has been growing pretty substantially.
Depending on what source you use, gun ownership among people that at least lean left is 20%-40%. Household is a little higher. Out of half the country, not counting children obviously, that's a fairly large number.

If you lump suicide in with "gun murder" you do it in an intellectually dishonest way. You are basically lying for an ends to take away our 2nd amendment right. It shall not be infringed.

I always present it as such when people talk about coming after ARs.
If you care about murders via guns I’ll give you an option. You have the ability to remove 1 gun from 1 race. When you make that decision, the number of deaths associated with those two things completely disappear.
What are you choosing, and why isn’t it handguns and African Americans?
