If you are on a phone, PC, and pulling data, it’s all the same. The apps just give an illusion of safety

I recently looked into it as well. Agree that it's a bit complicated. De-googled phone also requires the use of different apps and app store.

I just google a whole bunch of absolutely disgusting stuff so that they vomit all over themselves and turn me off from the info gathering scheme.

They do.

And on top of that, our own government has the keys to the main infrastructure information pipelines

Apps and Browsers are just an icing in a very deep layered cake of spying

Thats why I laughed when people kept wonder who the "leak" was in the Trump administration.

They no longer need one.
