The meltdown on here is as entertaining as everyone promised me it would be like.
“I knew it was a hoax, even when they said it wasn’t a hoax, and I was right.”
The collective narrative changes with each passing day. I still don’t get why people become so entrenched in their opinions on so many little things that leave themselves without any flexibility. Can’t your demagogues be human? Would it be so painful to admit a change in perspective when new evidence is presented?

Be careful not to commit the unflattering faux pas of over generalizing while your leveling criticism. It completely nullifies any cachet you may have otherwise earned with a more thoughtful and respectable analysis. While certain posts may stick out as being on the drastic side, "collective narrative" is itself a drastic and exaggerated opinion.
That said, I absolutely agree with
as long as the evidence is independently verified and void of any accompanying political rhetoric.

It’s obvious that the Senators who got the January 24th briefing from the Senate Heath Committee, which included officials who were leading the Coronavirus response, and then made aggressive repositions in their stock portfolios, took it seriously.

I think it has something to do with people putting up strawmen and hiding behind "experts", and of course, they never admit their false and wrong conclusions and beliefs in false Gods, "experts", "scientists", etc.
They'll just move on to some new BS once this hoax is over.

Or perhaps they knew the game plan of how the government would react.

I think everyone should cut out the hindsight 20/20 judgements. It was a slow roll of realization by everyone. China, with their deceptive cover up, is responsible for this.

False, we had data since basically the middle of February from many other countries.

We keep seeing these quotes and gotchas about people joking about it, comparing it to the flu, saying it was exaggerated, etc., etc.
No one, that I have seen, is innocent. Trump, Fauci, Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, Cuomo, diBlasio, media people from Clay Travis to CNN talking heads, did this early on.
I know I certainly did (and still do, TBH).
Edit: Added the WHO to the underplayed list.
People should just acknowledge that this caught everyone off guard. No one was prepared for this, or took it serious enough early on.
I think we can all rally around one thing though, and that's frick China.
If they had been honest in the beginning, the people I mentioned above would likely have taken it more serious early on.
Didn’t catch me off guard.
...and yes, boycott China. Institute a ban on all imports from and exports to China. A total ban on immigration from China.

Thought it would be closer to the flu. But a little worse.

Isn’t that about the time shut downs started at least being talked about?

That was probably more like the beginning of March, maybe the end of the first week or so.
We've had data for quite a while, although more data is better... there was enough to know all these estimates were poo.
