Let’s Be Clear: The Only Way This Seat Isn’t Filled Is If Republicans Choose Not To Do It

I want everyone to remember this when the disappointment comes.
Republicans hold the power. It’s completely up to them. The Democrats can do nothing.
Every single Democrat can vote against it and the seat could still be filled. The Democrats can rant and rave. They can threaten. There is nothing they can do to stop it.
Only Republicans can stop this seat from being filled.
Trump is going to put his nominee before them.
What will the Republicans do? It’s entirely up to them.
Remember.

If they don’t fill it, Trump will be made to look weak because he put his nominee out there and couldn’t get the party to confirm. It will splinter the party. It will deflate the right. It will energize the left. And a political generation deciding seat will be left exposed. It will be disastrous for the Republicans.
