If you now suddenly care about the People of Ukraine, did you feel bad for the Ukrainians who refused to acknowledge the illegal coup-formed government of 2014, and therefore were killed by the thousands for it?

This is all mostly about oil and gas. If Ukraine gets their act together and starts refining oil and gas, then selling it to Europe, that is going to massively cut into Russia's stranglehold on the European market. They need that access to survive since they really have no other source of revenue other than selling weapons.
This would push Ukraine further to the West and most likely into NATO eventually. Russia will never allow that. They just won't.
But Ukraine has the right to develop and sell the natural resources in their territory and sell it on the open market. Even if it crushes Russia economically.
Everyone else, including the USA, needs to stop meddling in Ukraine and let them do their thing.
More than anything, I'm pulling for the innocent Ukrainian and Russian people getting caught in the middle.

I don’t think either “side” of the matter presents a good argument. Seems to me the issue should be more of one that asks whether one believes Russia’s incursion into Ukraine is justifiable, or the flip side of the coin being the position that it’s not ok in any way to invade a sovereign country without any justification whatsoever.
It shouldn’t really be based in the identity of the leaders involved or even really the countries involved. It’s just more of a “general” matter than that.
