Yes. And they can still have a decent quality of life. And that’s on a single income at $70000.

Now factor in child support (if single) or spousal income.

Disagree. If your stupid, wasteful, single parent with lots of kids living in a high cost of living area?
Sure it can be tough. Last I checked though life is tough.

A local dairy is hiring line workers at $30/hour in rural, low cost WI. They'll be living better, with no overtime, than the $76K engineer in expensive Austin.

Why is this being cheered on?

Is this board conflating engineers with blue hair woke liberals?

The only university faculty that are still relatively conservative are inside engineering departments.

Which is a federally protected job.

Funny how attitudes towards unions have come back around

Are people not seeing that the image is H1B salary numbers? There are databases that track these things. Elon will probably post that all H1B salaries are getting a huge raise immediately, thinking that will own Loomer, but it will just make people angrier.

Feel free to point out where I am "cheering it on".

I am pointing out the ridiculously low pay for engineering grads in expensive to live areas.

A barely literate moron watching a machine shouldn't be living better than an engineering grad.

No, they are not.

I just threw out a job that I am familiar with. Any number of jobs that do not require a degree pay better than those jobs posted.

Some are, some aren’t.

But I get your point, STEM has been overhyped for 10+ years at this point.

Luckily it appears Elon got tired of her bullshite, suspended her, took her checkmark, etc... Now she's back on and continuing on so my guess is Laura-Time is about over.

She can probably get a nice job over at the Lincoln Project.

Millions of people live in America on less than 70k and do just fine

Just because some people are terrible with money doesn't mean it is impossible

Maybe not you, but isnt the point of this thread to criticize Loomers opinion?

Unlike the vast majority here, I don't just attack the messenger while ignoring the message.

Loomer is a fruitcake, but those numbers in the screenshot speak for themselves.

Are those Tesla jobs in Cali? Cause if so, that’s an awful wage. Like, truly laughable. A bartender at a high end restaurant in LA can make more than that.
