Politicians/ soldiers shouldn't be on pedestals to begin with
Do you think only southern politicians/soldiers have statues built for them. The history of the world long before the United States was founded has statues of leaders who were politicians or soldiers or both.

I don't have any psychological wounds from the Civil War!
None of my descendants ever owned a slave, but some can be traced to being forced from their home in Canada and settled in South Louisiana. I am proud to be from the South and my Cajun heritage.

I think those guys that dress in white hoods and burn crosses would enjoy what you've mentioned
Which is a bigger threat to the Nation? Rednecks who wear white hoods and burn crosses, or Joe Biden and the progressive agenda?

So did you mean shrines? Cute, but I don’t recall ever seeing people worship at the foot of statues of confederates. We must not live in the same universe.

People have been okay with these for 150 years and, in general, for basically the entirety of human civilization. That’s some hubris you’ve got, to think you’ve figured out something so much better. You really confident with your brave new world I guess. Glad y’all FINALLY figured it all out.

You can have your history as long as it does not offend certain “minority” groups. The tail wagging the dog much?
It doesn’t offend the Black community here. It just doesn’t. It’s just not relevant to them - but I also think it’s matter of culture. They wouldn’t step in and touch them, because they wouldn’t want anyone to do that to them.
There’s a live and let live attitude. And it’s true if your White or Black.
The protestors were sickly looking college students. Pale, thin, and tattooed. Or fat women, in their late twenties with pink hair. And a lot of people that smelled like pot. And all of them were white.
Broken and damaged people. Bitter, angry, ugly.

Are you going to also stand by the toppling of Founding Fathers and statues of Union generals as well? Are you OK where this is going? The Flag is in line for this nonsense. Speak up libs.

Good scare tactic. Are you conceding the lost cause argument with this?

Yeah. Let's save that honor for drug addicts that assault pregnant women.

Grant was actually the last slaveholder to hold the office of President while Sherman was a notorious racist and Indian fighter. They can't have statues put up in their honor in 2021 due to how problematic they have become.

Grant and Sherman's legacies are largely based on subjugating people who didn't want to be a part of the United States, be they Southerners or Native Americans. There is nothing admirable about either of them, personally or politically.
