Judge denies restraining order to halt Mulvaney's appointment as acting CFPB director
by Jim Puzzanghera
Nov. 28, 2017
A federal judge on Tuesday denied a request for a temporary restraining order to keep Mick Mulvaney from serving as the acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, handing a victory to President Trump and opponents of the independent watchdog agency.
The ruling was issued by Judge Timothy J. Kelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He was nominated this year by President Trump and took his seat on the court in September.
The dispute was precipitated by last week’s resignation of Richard Cordray, a Democrat who has been the agency’s only director since it was established in 2010 by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Cordray announced Friday that he had appointed Leandra English as the agency’s deputy director, which made her the acting chief, but within hours President Trump appointed Mulvaney . . .

Sen. Warren backs Leandra English in fight over consumer protection office
Leandra English is the new acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Monday.
English has done exactly what she should and that is come to Capitol Hill to talk about her plans as director of the agency, said Warren.
English claims she is the rightful acting director of the bureau, not Trump's pick Mick Mulvaney.

I love how his appointees loathe the departments they're in charge of

For a group of people which was supposedly lead by a “constitutional scholar”, they sure don’t have any fricking idea of what will be struck down by a court.

Unfortunately, the Federal Judge appointed by President Trump has denied the motion for TRO. We will continue to fight for the rule of law and will pursue an injunction.

I love seeing liberals melt. Knowing their day has been ruined just makes me so happy.

More importantly a multi million dollar Democrat slush fund was just ruined too.

Another reason why appointing judges who understand their role in our society is so important. The President's appointments area already paying off.

Keep digging Mr. Mulvaney… keep digging.

The CFPB was essentially created to work as a legal money laundering operation for progressive causes by fining financial institutions for conduct the CFPB finds in violation of their unilateral and arbitrary rules and regulations. The CFPB then use the proceeds from the fines to fund progressive organizations and causes. That’s the underlying reason why the Democrats are fraught with anxiety right now.
quote:
Mick Mulvaney is now in a position to look at the books, look at the prior records within the bureau, and expose the political agenda within it to the larger public. That is sending the progressives bananas.
Most likely President Trump will not appoint a replacement until Mulvaney has exposed the corruption within the bureau. That sunlight is toxic to Elizabeth Warren and can potentially be politically destructive to the Democrats. If the secrets within the bureau are revealed, there’s a much greater likelihood the bureau will be dissolved.
There are billions of scheme and graft at stake. Within the record-keeping there are more than likely dozens of progressive/Democrat organizations being financed by the secret enterprise that operates without oversight. That’s the risk to the SWAMP.
