So he sues for defamation? Damn. I hope we don't have to wait that long.
It’s actually kinda an interesting idea.
He would have an argument that he was telling the truth. Which is what he’s want to do.
Cons would be that it probably wouldn’t yield huge results just suing randos for defamation.

Whether trump was correct or not is not relevant to these cases. These people are being charged with various crimes that they committed themselves. Even if Trump could prove everything he said was true, they still broke the law by what they did.
This isn’t a defamation case where proving the statement true or false matters.

Has it not been a declaration by so many on the left that countless Trump supporters believed and did things that they wouldn't have otherwise believed or done but for "lies and misinformation" from Trump? That those supporters wouldn't have composed the beliefs independently and on their own accord? Because if that continues to be the belief of half the country, then I'd think certainly whether Trump was correct or not in his assertions would be very relevant.
**And the ironic part in these prosecutions, IF these defenses were utilized, the prosecution would be compelled to show "not so fast....the defendants weren't overpowered by misinformation because there perhaps wasn't any such misinformation after all..."

Not in this case
If you tell me my neighbor robbed me, and I go shoot him, it doesn't matter if you were lying or not

Who are these lawyers? Boosie, WDE24 and Judgeholden

Well, what if it was added "your neighbor robbed you and has taken your child hostage". The addition of a few inflammatory words might make a difference.
This exercise could potentially get sideways on us.
**Or maybe "kidnapped" instead of "hostage" would make more sense in that hypothetical.
