This is a misrepresentation and over simplification of what happened at the end of WWII regarding what became Kaliningrad.

You are definitely correct in the deGerming so to speak, and Russification, I just didn't want to get into that. My point is that these are Russians there and bordering nations already have a Russian population issue and did not want to become majority Russian

John Kay of the rock band Steppenwolf is from there. His father died as a Wehrmacht officer and his mother fled with him to safety away from the Russians.

Of course you're wanting to deflect and move on, you do it every time you're wrong about something just like you did re:Kaliningrad.

Hey!! There's that mirroring we've all come to know and love!!

Just keep button smashin,' big guy. I'm going to focus on the fact that Russia's going to lose this war, and you keep insinuating that I was never in an organization I was actually in for decades.

Just let someone know if you plan on doing self harm to yourself when Russia loses. I just want you to be okay....

As my previous post says those Russians lived in Kaliningrad were in Moscow for a temporary assignment...a three week training session.

I apologize RussianLSU. I read too much into that.

So a resident of Kaliningrad who worked in Russia, I can see how they could see themselves being Russian. But the rest of it still stands.

Well actually I'm not insinuating either way on that necessarily. You either weren't or you just didn't actually learn anything when you were. I don't have a preference for either theory.

And it only gets worse from there.

Rosneft, Russia's largest, most powerful and best-connected oil producer, announced a 73% drop in net income in ONE YEAR ALONE:

Rosneft Income Drops 73% in 2025

That means that their profits have dropped around 90% over the last two years, and there's no relief in sight.

The Russian news outlet Mash reports that AvtoVAZ will shut down its assembly lines for almost the entire period from 27 April to 17 May, with the workforce sent on mandatory leave.

Workers will be sent to do maintenance work between 27-30 April, 12-13 May will be covered by a postponement of vacation days from December, and staff will be paid at two-thirds their normal salary on 14-15 May.

Those who refuse will remain on the job with reduced pay (2,648 rubles ($33) per day instead of 4,000 ($50)).

AvtoVaz has already moved to a four-day week, cut wages, and implement mass lay-offs, but it is still producing too many vehicles to sell.

The company claims that the shutdown is needed to adjust production lines in advance of the new LADA Azimut vehicle, which is scheduled to launch in September 2026.

Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist Dmitry Steshin calls it "a day of celebration for foreign agents, as the audience for pro-Russian channels on Telegram has plummeted."

"Margarita Simonyan saw a 52.3% drop, while propagandist Alexander Sladkov saw a 49.4% drop. Views for ‘RT in Russian’ fell by 42%, whilst those for propagandists Vladimir Solovyov and Pavel Zarubin fell by 47.2% and 42.7% respectively.

"RIA Novosti and Tsargrad lost 43.9% and 41.2% of their audience, whilst the pro-Kremlin channels Mash, Baza, Shot and the Z-channels ‘Two Majors’, ‘Rybar’ and ‘Operation Z: Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring’ – between 31.9% and 36.3%.

"Meanwhile, [the independent Russian-language news outlet] ‘Meduza’, according to the foreign agents, saw a drop of just 3%."

The important question here is how are the numbers looking for Max, the required North Korean messenger app? Strangely enough, the Russian government is not publishing this data. As we know the magnetic effect of peer pressure on young people, it would make sense for these numbers to be made public, thereby adding to it's already massive appeal...

That 2% is just the initial number to deflect criticism of this announcement. These students need to get to the airport while they still can.

Only nine days until this election. These numbers just underline the high probablity of violence at the polls, a national emergency declared due to a false flag invasion by Ukrainian Jewish troops, theft of ballot boxes, random bombing in urban areas and a refusal to accept the results due to Tisla 'vote rigging'.

This coming week will see all the Kremlin operatives at work leading up to a very dangerous 3 or 4 days prior to the election. Any mass anti-Orban demonstrations are likely to be attacked. We know what the Hungarian security services will do, the question is - what will the local police do?

The Russian military has officially ground to a halt. Other than firing drones at Ukrainian civilian targets, Russia is finished. Once the long range Flamingos come out in numbers later this year and the US midterms approach, the Kremlin will be forced to ask for a cease fire.

Whether they get it or not is another question. The Ukrainian terms will be close to impossible for the Russians to accept. That's when they head for the airports...

Yes, but reality is a bit more complicated. Ukraine has retaken a lot of ground in the South that Russia had recently claimed, but Russia is still making progress on other fronts — including Donetsk (which is what they care about the most).

So, even though these map reports are encouraging to those of us who support Ukraine, they aren't as discouraging to Russians as we might think.
