Russia starts war against Ukraine 12 years ago, General Staff recalls first border crossing in Crimea
20.02.2026 12:08
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recalled that 12 years ago, on February 20, 2024, the Russian Federation started a war against Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
"The armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine began on February 20, 2014, when the first cases of violation by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, contrary to the international legal obligations of the Russian Federation, of the procedure for crossing the state border of Ukraine in the Kerch Strait area and the use of its military formations deployed in Crimea in accordance with the Partition Treaty on the Status and Conditions of the Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Ukraine of May 28, 1997, to block Ukrainian military units," the General Staff said.
At the initial stage of the aggression, personnel from certain Russian armed formations lacked identifying marks.
February 20, 2014, was designated as the start of the modern Russian-Ukrainian war by the Verkhovna Rada resolution.
The first target of aggression was Crimea, followed by the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In 2014, Ukrainians stopped the invaders' advance and liberated part of the territory.
The full-scale invasion in 2022 was an attempt to destroy Ukrainian statehood. The enemy's plans were thwarted, but hostilities continue to this day.

I speed read through his mid night lists to see if there is anything interesting. It doesn’t take long. It’s usually the same old stuff.
It’s nothing like the the firehosers.
I remember how you use to criticize them. Err on second thought I don’t.

Owning a manufacturing company for farm equipment parts might help accumulate that long before politics Agriculture is a major economic engine for Ukraine.
Try harder next time.

Looking at other comments, the guy appears to just be independently wealthy.
But this does reiterate my point that the decision makers are disconnected from any consequences of dragging this war out. Ukraine wont ever quit even if they got into a spot where they objectively should because the people making that call will fly out to their vineyards and islands out of country and never have to deal with the fallout.
That is also true in Moscow, btw

When Russia targeted the civilian train in January... that created a backlash against Starlink for turning a blind eye to Russia using its service, and that wouldn't be good for global PR and market share, so Musk acted. If he reverses that, he creates his own PR nightmare.

Get real. Throughout history people have fought and died for their cause, their liberties, their lifestyle, etc.
Why do you think most Ukrainians would throw in the towel now? Especially now that they know Russia is executing their men, taking their children, stealing their stuff, and placing Russian in locales to govern them?
There is nothing rational about this war. It’s not a science experiment or a think tank where you weigh evidence. It’s a fight for survival for the Ukrainians.

Good argument if that was what I said. Unfortunately it wasn't.

How is this cringe?
Well first off let's consider the context that he has nothing to prove to anyone.
He's got to prove it everyday, Vol. He's got to prove that his country is still fighting, he's still in charge, and much more, all while dealing with the onslaught of BS from the Russian 'firehouse of lies' approach. So, no, he's absolutely got to answer.
quote:
So he goes into the gutter on this Trump-ian rant "the history doesn't matter, but I'm the best at history and I've been all sorts of places and you haven't" sounds like a Trump line in some obscure feud with a low level Democrat
No, he's 100% correct on this one, too.
Look, he has to answer Putin on everything, else Putin just builds lie after lie. I understand it's annoying, but clearly, he knows what he's doing and is getting better and better at it.
It's not cringe at all.

Guys, ya'll need to learn to Google something before you just accept it as truth.
If you google Dmytro Solomchuk and nothing - and I mean NOTHING - comes up about this bribe, then it's probably BS. Maybe not, but it takes more than just a rando posting it to Twitter to make it true.
'Dmytro Solomchuk Bribe' Googled
Then take a look at the guys posting history. it's nothing but anti-Ukrainian propaganda, and not subtle about it.
Seriously, when someone posts something, no matter who it is, do a bit of a background check.

I invented nothing. The Russian scientist who also had associates in Ukriane where almost all high tech came from either St. Petersburg or Kyiv in the USSR lives in NYC. HIs tech was developed in Ukraine originally to hunter killer satellites. The tech is not new just attempting to adapt for other uses. The tech was used for setting pilings in the marshes of the Newer part of Moscow which is built on more swamp than New Orleans is. Abramovich already tried to buy 25% of his entity. That is effectively 100% control which is how the Russian mafia rolls.
You are more fake than anyone other than maybe OML
Your and volsquat's problem is that y'all don't get that as an example of Ukraine not being some rural 3rd world nation without any know how and inventiveness. One of Ukraine's biggest economic sectors before 2022 was software development. You just think sunflower farmers and peasants. Most are actually more intelligent than you could ever be.
Try harder, your are losing AGAIN
