Look at Denmark, they basically gave Ukraine all their weapons, because they don't even think they need an army, the US will take care of them.

Uh... nope. Denmark does not trust Trump due to his Greenland fetish... but they are in close proximity to their NATO allies Germany, Sweden and Norway... if they're expecting anyone to protect them, that's who they're banking on... they seem to have the attitude of "Let Ukraine diminish Russia until they're too weak to fight anywhere else."

Look at Spain, the most worthless of the bunch.

Spain was a latecomer to the first era of NATO (and was ruled by a semi-Fascist dictator at the time)... now they're facing a Demographic collapse... they're an older population with few young workers... when the choice is between spending money on social services and health care, or military spending (with a shrinking pool of potential troops), they're choosing social spending and health care. The question is if the country can even exist in a few decades.

No, Germany would run out of ammo in 2 weeks.
Sweden would only protect itself
Norway would also only protect itself.

Denmark is the BLM protester who hates the police, but will whine if someone touches their bike.

They talk a lot of crap, but they 100% know that the US will protect them.

Agreed 100%.

This isn't going down tomorrow... Germany is bulking up.

Also, this is going to be sea battles... and the Baltic is now a "NATO Lake."

Either by land of sea, Denmark is probably not on the very front lines if anything goes down, and not alone.

Is that an excuse for treating defense as a joke?
When Poland, Finland and the Baltics are fighting for their lives, Denmark should say look I'm not a real ally?

Not really, in a video I posted on the old thread it was pointed out that most of the armor destroyed were already immobilized and still its success is MAYBE 20%.

They are definitely part of the toolbox and excellent for recon but not a replacement for artillery.

A biz friend fought at the front in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022. The last year was as a drone operator. He loved spotting when HIMARS entered the battlefield. Always a guaranteed kill. His employer is in NJ and with his wife's cancer was transferred to the home office which had been trying to get him to move here since 2020

What?

YOU just said those countries would only protect themselves and no one else, didn't you? You're wrong, but you did just say that...

You look at that map and conclude what Denmark needs most in protecting itself from Russia is tanks? Despite the facts that tanks aren't faring well in the field in Ukraine and seem to be an obsolete weapon...

Do you imagine Russia is going to Blitzkrieg through Poland and Germany and up into Denmark in a few days? Considering how far they've made it into Ukraine in 3 years?

Jets, ships, sea drones, aerial drones and missiles. That's what Denmark needs. Their mission will be blockading the Russian fleet with those choke points into/out of the Baltic Sea. They will not be repelling a ground invasion.

They will send troops in a NATO effort, but those troops will not drive their own tanks to the front. They will participate in air strikes and naval operations.

Tanks and artillery are probably useless to them... they won't be fighting Germany. Hitting ships with Howitzers is probably impractical.

Upgrade your thinking.

I said Norway Sweden and Germany.

The Baltics, Finland, and Poland are the front line.
They don't have a choice.

Air defense, UAS defense, Mine Layers, Mine Sweepers, 5th Gen Fighters, 155mm Guns and Rocket Launchers.
Where the heck did I say tanks?
If Denmark was a good ally they would be sending troops into Poland...
But they wont.
Because they are far worse than the US.
But no one holds them accountable for not breaking 1.4% until 2023.

Yea they arent serious, they won't do anything.

Dude, why are you arguing about tanks, no one said tanks.

Danish are deadbeats. They aren't going to do anything.

Why are you defending Denmark so much when you won't defend the USA that has done more.

Danish are garbage.

I'm interested in what you think about the Baltic states donating so much of their arms to Ukraine? Considering they are the smallest and by far the most vulnerable NATO countries? Foolish?

The Baltics are the heroes of NATO.
Sky High defense spending.

Russia launches large-scale missile, drone attack on Kyiv, striking residential buildings

July 3, 2025 9:11 pm (Updated: July 4, 2025 2:22 am)

Russia launched waves of missile and drone attacks across Ukraine overnight on July 4, striking a residential building in Kyiv, officials reported.

Kyiv Independent journalists on the ground reported hearing multiple rounds of explosions in the capital beginning around 10 p.m. local time and lasting into the early morning of July 4. Ukraine's Air Force reported Russia had launched a ballistic missile towards the capital around 12:30 a.m.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, confirmed that a fire had broken out on the roof of a residential building in the Obolon district of Kyiv as a result of an earlier drone strike. Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said that there did not appear to be heavy damage or casualties as a result of the fire, however, the details are still being confirmed.

Similarly in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the city, a drone struck the roof of a home, likely resulting in casualties, Tkachenko reported, although the details of the attack are being clarified.

Officials said that Russia had struck at least 13 different locations with Kyiv.

The drone assault comes hours after a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the Kremlin said Putin reaffirmed that "Russia will continue to pursue its goals" in Ukraine despite calls for a ceasefire from the West.

Not at all he works in Hainesport, NJ. You have a fake IQ if you claim that it is higher than 85 or your education and the internet have dumbed you down. His wife could have been treated in the Czech Republic or the UK but the wait time would mean she would have died. The curse of universal healthcare is wait time

FTR, "Alex" was shocked that humanitarian aid included food. That is the one thing Ukraine doesn't need, it exports food. It has way more than enough to feed itself and several other entire nations.

That's weird. Some personal thing? I won't even say Russians are trash, because I know some great people who are Russian. I know some Danes who are damned cool folks.

Anybody West of Poland or who wasn't an Iron Curtain country was lulled into believing Russia had become like any other European country: happy to get rich selling natural gas and oil, and changed. They bought the excuses to invade Crimea and stoke things in the Donbas. And the invasion woke them up. Before that, they were increasingly wondering what the point of NATO was in this day and age?

I'd say Denmark is more fully awake than Germany at this point, which still has people in high positions dedicated to Gazprom over NATO.

European security tops Denmark's EU presidency priorities

I had a weird exchange with a Swedish woman yesterday who was militantly pro-Ukraine/anti-Putin, but wanted Sweden to quit NATO and go back to its Neutral status... that doesn't make much sense, but I guess it's a historical thing.

It's pretty equal with nations that trash us but expect us to give them a free ride.

Many Danish people are fine, but as an ally, they are trash.
There are many Danes who refuse to do anything that risks their extreme wealth and comfort, but are happy to both mock our lack of medical coverage, and insist that we are terrible for not giving Ukraine more.

One can determine that an ally is worthless because they refuse to participate in the alliance.

UK, France, Poland, Baltic Nations, Greece, good alliance members with serious military.
Sweden, Finland, Turkey all have serious military forces.
All participate as allies in NATO.

Many of the rest are trash, but it doesn't stop them from loving China and trashing the US.

When they put their money where their mouth is I will reconsider.

Thats understandable, but what is not is people from nations that are not helping who constantly attack the US.

You know it happened all the time under Biden as well.

People who refuse to give up their social comfort to actually build a military, but are perfectly happy absolutely trashing the US.

I will say that the Danish aren't highest on my list of NATO deadbeats.

But if we got in a fight, many of them including Denmark are not reliable.
