There's been a whole host of chan image board sites over the years. 2chan, 4chan, 8chan (all short for Channel), with 4chan being the biggest one left standing. 8chan was targeted and deplatformed due to deliberate actions of third parties, posting the El Paso and Christchurch shooters' manifestos on there despite the shooters already being down when it was posted.
Obviously, 8chan was a threat because that's where Q was posting. The owners regrouped and launched 8kun a couple of months later.
4chan lacks 8k's tripcode verification feature so it's truly still anonymous-anonymous, but after the Buffalo false flag/MKUltra shooting, even it is being targeted by this bogus NY AG investigation.

In a larger sense, Anons aren't just those who actively contribute to the chans, but also encompass all of us who contribute to the larger open source research that's been going on for years in the absence of more than 6 real journalists left in the world. It's all one big meat computer and we work together to put the disparate pieces of info together that we observe and together patterns are identified that otherwise are deliberately avoided by the MSM propaganda mills.

I figured I'd offer the secondary definition since half the time when I post my Busey "Anons Knew" gif, our usual cast of characters shortsightedly assume I meant "Q predicted this" when that's not my MO in the first place.
We've always discussed/theorized about a lot more than is covered in 5k posts by Q, but then again... If critical thinking were their strong suits, they probably wouldn't be defaulting to the most knee-jerk Qbsessed reaction in their limited arsenal .

Yep. And we have gotten a lot wrong. But also a lot right. That's the nature of it. It's supposed to be a collaborative effort of people bouncing information, ideas, and theories off each other with the aim of exposing the malfeasance of our bad guys. This shouldn't be necessary, but as anyone can obviously see, they have the entire system rigged in their favor. The idea is to crowd source Intel and slowly awaken everyone to what's going on.
The dumb arse naysayers latch on to anything one of us might say and use that to label the entire movement as unhinged or whatever.
They're stupid. I think by now most can see these people for who they are.
If the average person had any true idea how important this all was they would view these people with utter contempt. Like I do.

What happened was a man who had not ever been elected to a political office became President. He appointed Judges, at every level, who specifically follow the U S Constitution.
He removed regulations and taxes that stifled the dreams of Americans and the country roared. Then China sent us a virus. Yes, it was an act of war!!
