I'm all about dumping on Ole Miss in good fun, but Lane just needs to STFU about things that aren't football.
If I was a black recruits grandparents, I'd be more concerned about my son's safety from other young blacks than "racist" whites, because the statistics bear that out beyond any doubt. Not sure about Oxford but I know Baton Rouge has quite a bit of violent black crime.

Lane is a clown.

People that say we have “racist traditions” just want to perpetuate a narrative that has been dead for decades.
Fair enough- I didn't know they banned the flag or the Colonel Reb...
I've visited Ole Miss 4 years ago for an orientation..
the school is in the middle of nowhere...
surrounded by what appears to be extreme poverty.
The vibe there on campus is middle class to rich white kids who party hard... nothing new under the sun
Is there a saying "Ole Miss red-shirts Miss America's" ...all these pretty white girls...that's why Ole Miss is known for...if you were to give it a worldly perspective.
so- it's not viewed or persceived as diverse campus, I've been there-, I didn't observe a lot of black and brown people , ... getting into Ole Miss is pretty dang easy. I also don't think they should apologize for how the demographics shake out as they do...
As ChatGpt noted, it's 11% diverse...that means you have a mostly white school. Is that a problem? no, I don't think so, it just how it is. So, this fact means Lane is mostly correct...yet people are trying to say, no, that's not true...numbers are numbers
so then question would be: "do black students feel comfortable attending school there?"...
that' said, I have black fatigue...whites can't go 24 hours without being labeled racist while I see black people either fighting each other or hitting white people in broad daylight...the evening news and social media are full of examples...
that crap makes me furious...people film people hurting each other and do nothing.
93% of blacks vote democrat, that's a problem....that is not diversity of thought...
divisity of skin color is not anything but a statement...it doesn't mean we get along or feel comfortable..
as with all issues "It depends"

As I said in the Rant thread, it was a chicken shite move.
Because if LSU hadn't come calling he was 'happy' in Oxford.
And the athletes family who bring that up, you can absolutely guess their world view. And how they vote.

Well, Lane never had a problem accepting Colonel Reb's money to coach. You're a hypocrite, Lane Kiffin.

Point out to me where I suggested otherwise. I lived in Baton Rouge. I am an LSU fan. I hope we get all the best recruits. But Lane is a fricking idiot to raise this issue.

What an utterly moronic thing to say.

Even if Vanity Fair raised the question, all Lane had to do is say he is only taking football related questions and leave it at that. Him even answering is trying to rub salt in an old wound.
Also, Lane devalued all his achievements while coaching at said school. Vanity should have asked him why he took the job in first place or why he didn’t leave his first year if he was aware of that stuff.
It really paints Lane in a bad light. I honestly wasn’t as tuned in to him as OM/LSU fans. And always just thought of him as a goofy character but nothing more.
This does change my perception of him as a pandering race baiter, who will go scorched earth after smiling at you for years. Same characteristics as Lincoln Riley when he left OU. LR said he couldn’t recruit at OU. And made a bunch of bad remarks afterwards. He is never welcome here again.
All Lane had to do is say next question and not even hint at racial stuff. He blew it imo. And all just to be “liked” by the left. Never knew Lane was like this until now.
Of course we all know whats going to happen leading up to their game. TV and sports writers will repeat his garbage all to get viewers and clicks. And OM gets put in a bad light nationally. And that sucks for them and for SEC as a whole. We know its coming and Vanity Fair references will give them cover.
I hate he didn’t shut down interview or walk out on them.

He is a West coast guy and most people on the West coast are pretty left leaning. How is this surprising? He has made similar comments about the South before

and Oxford is not a "major" city so why the frick would someone arguing the Ole Miss position be wrong to mention it? I dislike both schools and Kiffin so I have no dog in this fight.
