They had agreed on a deal and now the Lady wants more money so they are suing to share naming rights, saying they trademarked the name in 2011. I don't see the big deal on this one

People have been calling them “Lady A” for years, and they are not seeking to preclude the other lady from using the name as well.

The singer's lawyer is playing them right. I'd imagine it went something like this:
"Let's shoot for like three to five million out of this. We'll demand ten and force their hand. It'll get press. And then we'll look good for taking half of our demand to make it go away."
