I remember coming back from a road trip out west and stopping at the I-20 center after crossing over from TX. It was such a dilapidated dump.
Every time we return from a vacation it’s downright depressing coming back.

About a decade ago DOTD tore down the old Acadian-style welcome center there at Vinton. In its place they put up a soulless slab of nothing.
It looks nice on the inside, but nothing about the exterior says "welcome to Louisiana".
